1st Period:

Log into Google Classroom. This week's assignment is called "WWI Warfare." I have made a copy of the assignment for each of you.

Complete the graphic organizer on the first page, using the pages that follow to answer the questions. Type your answers directly into the document.

When you finish the graphic organizer, answer the timeline questions on the last page.

2nd-7th Periods:

This week we will review World War 1. (Also, if you were not at school on March 13 you will complete your LEQ.)

Assignments to turn in:

1) Causes of WW1 Mini-Q (Only need to answer the questions for the docs. No need to write a mini-essay.)

2) WW1 Reflection: View the video and write your 2 paragraph reflection.

3) LEQ: This is attached and ONLY needs to be done if you were absent on March 13.

1st Period

Assignment: World War I Letter from the Home Front

1) Analyze the example letters from World War I.

2) Create your own mock letter as if you were in World War I.

2nd-7th Periods:

• View the “Disease” Video & write reflection

• SOAP five Disease documents

• Create a 5 paragraph DBQ response to the following prompt:

  • Explain the continuity & change humanity has experienced in dealing with infectious diseases throughout history.

Weekly Directions:

1st Period:

1) Read the documents about the Treaty of Versailles which ended World War I.

2) Fill out the organizers for each document to help you analyze the Treaty of Versailles.

2nd - 7th Periods:

You will create a brochure detailing one of the global pandemics which have impacted World History over the last two centuries. (You CANNOT choose Covid-19 as you will compare a historical pandemic to it in the brochure.)

You can focus on one of the following global pandemics:

• Plague of Justinian

• Black Death

• Great Dying in the New World

• 1918 Spanish Influenza

Each brochure should include the following:

• Two paragraphs on the historical impact of the pandemic

• Major cities/countries impacted by the pandemic.

  • At least two countries/cities

  • 1-2 sentences detailing the impact on each city/country

• Explanation of pandemics effect on Economic life of the era

• Explanation of pandemics effect on Political life of the era

• Historical quote (from someone who lived DURING the pandemic)

• Minimum of five facts about the pandemic. Facts may include

  • Source of the pandemic

  • Transmissibility of the viral outbreak

  • Infection rate

  • Mortality rate

  • Total death toll

  • Treatments

• Two paragraphs comparing & contrasting the pandemic with Covid-19.

• Minimum of six pictures

Weekly Directions:

1st Period:

Read documents about the Great Depression and the Rise of Axis Powers.

Answer the corresponding questions.

Be sure to submit once complete. Have a safe and productive week!

2nd - 7th Periods:

• View the “Railroads & Industrialization” Video & write reflection

• SOAP five Disease documents

• Create a 5 paragraph DBQ response to the following prompt:

  • Evaluate the effects of the strategies implemented by governments which promoted their own visions of industrialization during the period 1750-1900 CE..

  • (ie. What did governments do to reinforce industrialization? What were the resulting changes of these actions?)

• FYI -- This week’s DBQ will be graded on the new 2020 AP Rubric

  • It differs slightly from what we have used but the underlying concepts remain.

  • There are slides at the end of this presentation detailing info & scoring for the 2020 WHAP Exam. See them for clarification.

• Respond to the questions.

2nd - 7th:

Instructions: You know how to play “Would You Rather,” so we will do it to review for the AP Exam.

• Context: Add at least 1-2 sentence(s) of context to the question.

• Evidence /Rationale: Defend your choice with 3-4 sentences of specific evidence.

  • Avoid explanations such as “because it was better” or “because she was awesome”, etc.

• Add one picture of each choice/slide (2 pics total/slide)

• Lastly, share your choices with someone

  • Present it to a family member

  • OR debate it with a classmate through Facetime, etc.

Directions:

• Watch video links.

• Read the excerpts and examine the images.

• Respond to the questions.

2nd-7th Periods:

Instructions: This will be a quick review of the units that we covered this year.

For each slide do the following

1. Watch the videos.

   1. They are good summaries of each unit and will be beneficial to you.

2. Choose TWO WHAP Themes that were MOST important to this unit.

   1. These are your choices. There are no “right” answers.

   2. Write 1-2 sentences defending your choice of said themes.

3. Write a 4-6 sentence summary of the unit.

   1. Tell the story of the unit. What were the major events.

   2. You are essentially writing the CONTEXT for each unit.

This week we will take our FINAL Exam.

2) Input the Room Name: "FCTIGERS"

3) Input your name.

4) There are 15 questions. All are multiple choice.

5) Show me what you learned. Be safe. Rock out!

2nd-7th:

The AP Exam is at 2:00 pm Thursday.

Use this documents on Google Classroom to help you prep.

Submit it by midnight Wednesday night.

Then rock out on the AP Exam on Thursday.
