In Module 1 we have learnt about didnt genres of writing. We have written a description about the Queen's knickers, written a diary entry pretending to be a Victorian child, written a non-chronological report about Florence Nightingale and written a recount of our fantastic workshop.

This module we have written stories about a magic pencil, wrote a character description about Janet Smed and Bill Smoo and written a blue poem inspired by the book The Proudest Blue.
We have enjoyed listening to and reading different stories which has inspired our writing. We have also been reflective learners and have been working hard to improve our handwriting.

In module 3 we have been improving our creative writing skills. We have written a description of a new invention using the book Rosie Revere as inspiration. To consolidate what we have learnt about the Wright Brothers in History we wrote a non-chronological report. We had a very exciting end to this module where we entered an invention competition. We had to write persuasive letter describing a new invention. If our entrances are successful then our invention will be made! The children enjoyed listening to talks from 3 different engineers to inspire their writing.
This module we have been reflective learners and have focused on improving our vocabulary, presentation and sentence structure. We have written our own stories based a familiar text, written instructions on how to plant a seed and a poem about a seed.
This module we have worked hard on our presentation, stamina for writing and using ambitious vocabulary. We have written diaries, a recount of our trip, and a leaflet about animal habitats.
In our English lessons we have focused on building our stamina for writing by writing narratives, instructions and completing descriptive writing. We used a story called 'Flotsam' to help us write a story and focused on what is needed to create a great friendships, which allowed us to write a great recipe. We have focused lots on SPaG to help us prepare for Year 3.
