Throughout this module we have been looking at continents and oceans around the world, developing the skill of atlas identification. In each lesson we have been given the opportunity to locate places on the world map, discover countries around the world and explore what continents they are in. We have enjoyed listening to the continent song to help us remember the continents of the world.
We spent some of our Geography lessons finding where oceans are around the world. We loved using the atlases that are in our classrooms.
We have explored lots of continents. We loved learning about Oceania and exploring their famous landmarks.
Throughout this module we have continued to explore the world by identifying a range of countries, seas and oceans. We have enjoyed using atlasses to help us find the information we need as well as sing lots of songs linked to the continents and seas.
We have been using an atlas to find physical and human features of the world including mountains, rivers, roads and seas.
Throughout this module we have been making links between our Geography and computing learning by exploring different maps and different directions. We have been using language linked to a compass such as North, South, East and West as well as language such as forwards, backwards, left and right.
As well as exploring maps, we have been able to design our own plan maps of our classroom as well as sketch maps of our journey into school.
In Geography we have been developing our research skills by comparing the climates between the U.K and Malawi. We then had agency to showcase our learning and present it to the class.
In Geography we researched animals around the world and located where they live in a map.
Throughout this module we have looked at fieldwork and data collection. We have managed to link this to our Inquiry learning, especially computing when creating pictograms on our chromebooks. Towards the end of the module we collected data ourside our school, looking at sustainable transport. We found lots of pedestrians and electric cars! We then created our own pictograms to represent this data.
