We have enjoyed listening to and reading some brilliant stories this module. We have developed our retrieval and inference skills as well as widening our vocabulary.
We have also enjoyed reading for pleasure where we are able to look and reading our favourite books with our friends.
We also learnt about performance poetry. We enjoyed acting our a peom about Florence Nightingale using our voices and actions.
In module 2 we have enjoyed listening and reading the Smed and Smoos, Malala's Magic Pencil, The Proudest Blue. We have used our retrieval skills to answer questions about each text and have written book reviews about our favourite story.

As well as reading lots of amazing books that link to different aspects of our learning, at the beginning of the module we took part in an event with our parents and carers where they came in and enjoyed some reading for pleasure with us. We loved having parents and carers in our classrooms showcasing our amazing reading!
Over the last 2 modules we have been reading longer chapter books such as the Hodgeheg and The day the screens went blank. We have discussed the books in details and developed our prediction, inference, retrieval and vocabulary skills and understanding.
