In our computing lessons this module we have been learning about information technology. We have investigated the different types of information technology we use in our school as well as looking at information used in the world. We compared items that were information technology and were not information technology.
During our National Online Safety lessons have focussed self identify where we have learnt that aviators help keep our identity safe online. We understand the importance of Stop, Lock and Tell if we feel unsafe online.
In our computing lessons we have been looking at digital photography. We have been learning about how to take good photo by focusing on different orientations as well as how we can edit photos for a positive reason. We have enjoyed using the iPads and exploring the different tools that we are able to use! As well as editing photos, we have explored different lighting and how bad lighting can make a photo look worse.
This module has been all about programming! We have been using the Beebots in our learning to help us get to different places in our classrooms. To help us understand how robots and programming works, we have been learning about algorithms and following instructions. We designed our own maps for the Beebots to move on and also included some obstacles. It has been great fun!
Our computing lessons have allowed us to make transdisciplinary links to music as we have been able to describe how music makes us feel, give our opinion on different genres of music and also create some digital music ourselves, using an online platform call Chrome Music Lab. We have loved using the website to create our own rhythms and explore different ways that we can make a range of melodies.
In our online safety lessons we have been learning about copyright and ownership. We have been doing this by discussing the importance of finding out if information is true or not as well as the importance of not believing everything that is online. Linking with this, we have learnt what the different parts of a website page and how we can use certain parts to keep us safe.
This module we have been using the programme Scratch Jr to create a quiz about where animals live.
This module we have been looking at how to present data using technology. We linked our computing lessons to our Geography lessons where we conducted field work to see which was the most popular mode of sustainable transport.
