'Being me in my world' is our focus this module. Our first discussion was all about what makes us feel safe. We spoke about the people, places and objects that are special to us and make us feel safe.
Our next discussion was based around the question, 'What make our classroom a good learning environment?' We came up with so many positive examples including; not calling out, helping each other, respecting our environment by looking after things, listening carefully and smiling.
This week, we discussed our rights and responsibilities. We learnt about our right to learn and our responsibility to ensure everybody is able to do so.
This week, we thought about what makes us proud and why. We shared our reasons for feeling proud today and spoke about how rewarding a feeling of pride is. We also made a list of other rewards we enjoy and thought about consequences to our actions.
Finally we created a class charter which we filled with the behaviours we demonstrate to ensure we have the best opportunities to learn.
'Celebrating differences' is our focus this module. We began by looking at similarities between people and came up with lots of ways people can be similar.
In our second lesson, we looked at differences and made comparisons between ourselves and our friends.
In our next two lessons, we learnt about 'Bullying' and how we can deal with it.
This module we have been learning about setting and achieving goals. We thought about how success makes us feel and the steps we need to follow to achieve it. Finally we thought about how we can stretch and challenge ourselves to achieve our goals and how that makes us feel.
This module we are learning how to keep healthy. We began by deciding which acitivties were shown were healthy or not. We discussed how some things are only unhealthy if we do them too much. We also learnt a song and enjoyed acting it out.
This module we are learning about relationships. We started by discussing the similarities and differences within our families. We sang and discussed 'The Colours of Friendship' and what being a good friend means. Also, we learnt about different greetings and boundaries whilst discussing what feels good or not to them . Then we explored how people help us, being your own best friend, acknowledged and celebrated the special people in our life.
This module we are learning about changes and life cycles. We started by discussing animal life cycles and how we all grow at different rates. We looked at human life cycles and how we change as we get older. Then we explored how we learn, grow and develop with age and shared different ways to manage our emotions during change events.
