Precise measurement is very important in baking. It's not possible to "wing it" and get the product you are expecting. Baking recipes are basically chemical equations and when you change one ingredient, or measure it improperly, it can ruin the recipe completely.
Lesson Objectives:
You will understand how to measure a variety of ingredients in the kitchen.
You will understand how equivalents can be used to double and halve a recipe.
Lesson Goals:
You will watch a video that shows how to measure a variety of ingredients accurately.
You will accurately double a recipe and halve a recipe and all answers will be measurable with the common kitchen tools.
Watch the video to review how to measure wet and dry ingredients properly. Pay attention to how to use a scale because we will use the scales often this semester.
To review abbreviations, equivalents, and to practice changing measurements you are going to use the Google Slide presentation below.
