For Incoming First Year Students

Housing Applications and Roommate Requests are DUE by

June 21st @ 5 p.m.

for best consideration!

You may REVISIT Roommate Selection until it closes or you receive a housing assignment.
Incoming First Year Students are housed together in Binford and Milner Halls so cannot be paired as roommates with Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors.
Students participating in the Ethical Leaders in Action TLC are likely to be paired with roommates who are also in this TLC so roommate options may be restricted.

No roommate? No worries!...

If you do not have a roommate in mind coming into your first semester, don't worry! This is the case for most students. Our system will match you with a roommate based on your responses and preferences in your Online Housing Application.

For INCOMING TRANSFER STUDENTS

Transfer students are routinely housed with continuing Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, most of whom already have their housing assignments. This is a manual process and placement is based on the preferences you enter in your Online Housing Application and the remaining available vacancies in continuing student housing. If you have a specific roommate or placement request OR you prefer to live in First Year Student Housing, please contact Residential Education & Housing directly once you have completed your Online Housing Application.

For Continuing Students

  1. Be sure to complete your Online Housing Application by the deadline in order to be eligible.
  2. Login to MyHousing Self-Service. Select "Roommates/Suitemates" from the "Roommate and Room Selection" drop-down menu.
  3. Select the relevant future term.
  4. Using the Simple Roommate Search fields, find and request your roommate. (If you cannot find your roommate, they may be ineligible, you may contact ResEd&Housing directly.)
  5. Your roommate must follow the same steps or "accept" your request.

If you are NOT participating in General Room Self-Selection because you are submitting 1.) an Apartment Group Application, 2.) an application to the Global Learning & Academic Wellness TLC, or 3.) an application to the Communal Queer Living TLC, then there are places on these various applications to indicate your requested roommate(s). For 2 and 3, please remember that your requested roommate will also need to go through the same process and request you as their roommate.
