Assignment #4: Project #3

Step 1: Select two molecules from the provided list that has a clear relation to the molecules we have seen within these chapters.

** Additional molecules can be suggested and put onto the list. (Inform Ms. Burnett prior to beginning the project for approval of molecule)

Step 2: Research the two molecules you choose.

** Guiding Questions

• I.U.P.A.C. Name of chemicals and Common Names
• Chemical properties (Boiling, melting point, physical properties, chemical formula(s), etc.)
• Show chemical structure of the molecules (identify the functional groups seen)
• Describe how these molecules connect to the living world (Biological and in nature)
• Describe any connections between the two molecules (comparison of these molecules)
• Show a chemical reaction involving your molecules (separate or together....)

Step 3: Take the information that you have gathered and make a product.

List of product suggestions: Presentation, research paper (3-5 pages in MLA format), poster (digital and handwritten), video ad, podcast, physical model, digital 3-D model, infomercial, public announcement, webinar, art exhibit, poems, creative writing piece, educational website, infographic, picture book, etc.

List of molecules acceptable for these chapters: Acedadine triphosphate, Acedadine diphosphate, Amino Acids (Pick on of 20), Rhodopsin, Hemoglobin, Keratin, Cytosine Triphosphate, Thymidine Triphosphate, Uracil Triphosphate, Ribonucleic Acid, Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid, Guanosine Triphosphate
