Astrobiology: Assignment #2

Senario: Ms. Burnett has received a $1 billion grant for exploration of life within our solar system. Your goal is to persuade Ms. Burnett to grant you the money for exploration.

Procedure:

• Research the chosen location (include information on conditions, etc.)
• Provide evidence that life will be found on this location.
• Anticipate three counter arguments that may potentially be brought up by the other group.
• Prepare a 10 minute presentation introducing your location and why there is the potential for life there.
• Give your presentation to the class.
• Debate the arguments between the two groups.

Debate Etiquette:

• Ideas are debated.
• Inside voices are to be used.
• One person at a time will speak (hand raised and given the floor to talk)
• Everyone will have to participate in the debate.
