Step 1: Read Chapter 5: Proposal Writing

Step 2: Complete the Chapter Questions.

Step 3: Write a draft proposal.

** Include a budget proposal, if purchases need to be made for your project.

Assignment #3: Informal Proposal

Step 1: Schedule an appointment with Ms. Burnett before school or after school.

Step 2: During your meeting with Ms. Burnett, you will propose your research project.

For the project, you need to have the following:

• Essential question for research.
• Proposed methods.
• Hypotheses.

Assignment #4: Research Proposal

Step 1: After your project has been approved by Ms. Burnett, you will write your formal research proposal with appropriate components:

• Title
• Introduction
• Experimental Design
• Hypotheses
• Materials
• Methods
• Budget Proposal (Appendix 1, referenced in methods or materials)
