Georgetown University’s visual identity looks to the past for inspiration but must remain relevant for the 21st century and be responsive to the varied needs of all those responsible for the university’s outreach and communications.
Please review the guidelines on the Georgetown Visual Identity Page that covers the foundational elements of Georgetown’s visual identity. Core rules governing usage of the seal, font, and primary colors are presented, along with options for formatting, type styles, and a broad palette of accent and complementary colors.

Listserv Moderation MBA Listservs
Class listservs are moderated, and emails require approvals from listserv managers or owners prior to distribution to recipients.
The SGA Vice Presidents of Marketing & Communications moderate the emails sent to the class-wide listservs.
Moderators will coordinate with the Vice Presidents of Student Organizations regarding follow up with any clubs that exceed their allotted number of communications.
Class Listserv Email Limits
Should Student Organizations need to send a school-wide email, they must adhere to the following limits for emailing class listservs:
Email MBA Listservs: Limit: 1 email per club per semester. (+1 for Career Day, +1 for iTreks or Treks): List of listservs available here.
Suject to the approval of VPs of Community, Marketing & Communications, and Student Organizations, club-led fundraisers for charities or causes may be promoted through the schoolwide listserv. Such fundraisers should not have limited scope nor capacity constraints.
Student Government officers are permitted to send schoolwide communications to advance initiatives pertinent to their role.
Student Government officers are not restricted to a certain number of emails per semester, but are expected to use discretion in frequency of emails sent.
If a club event is co-sponsored by the student government(s), the officer who spearheaded the collaboration may send an email through the schoolwide listserv to promote the event.
Georgetown McDonough Google Groups Lists
Please note that the msb-fac-staff list sends messages to all faculty and staff, including our many adjuncts (whose inboxes can quickly become cluttered with Georgetown emails). The best way to email the faculty and staff is to use the individual msb-fulltimefaculty and the msb-staff lists.
Many of our lists are moderated, which also is part of our effort to reduce emails to our different audiences. If a group is moderated, we have noted that in the list.
To reduce confusion about student cohorts, student lists now have their graduation year (and not cohort number) in their email name.
Please also be mindful when emailing all students that some messages may not be appropriate for all cohorts (ie, online students may need different messages than in-person students).
And, as always, when sending to the lists, please put them in the bcc line of the email.
If you wish to contact a subset of these audiences, please contact the Tech Center for additional assistance.
If you wish to contact alumni, these student lists are not updated with their preferred contact information after graduation. Instead, please reach out to the McDonough Office of Alumni Relations.
MBA Club Logos:
To change the MBA Club logos, club leaders must follow MSB Marketing/Comms Policies. Once you have the final logo, please submit it for approval to the Marketing/Comms Team (Martha Holland & Teresa Mannix, and cc'ed mbaprogramoffice@georgetown.edu). After it is approved, please update your group's new logo on HoyaConnect and save the high-resolution image into your club's Google Drive so future leaders can find it easily.
Please keep in mind that the MSB logo just changed (new ones here), so please consider that if you decide to change your club logo.
Club Email Accounts: All student organizations have a “georgetown.edu” email account that should be used for all club business.
Club leaders will receive their email account and password from their club advisors at the beginning of their term.
Passwords should not be shared with anyone outside of active board members.
Student organizations can use this general email account to log into other Georgetown University tech platforms, such as Google Suite, Zoom, Box, etc.
Club emails should NOT be enrolled on DUO, and they should NOT change password without their MBA Program Office Advisor's approval
All students can view club emails in MBA Student Org Advisors and Leaders file.
Should Student Organizations need to send a school-wide email, they must adhere to the following guidelines:
One (1) email permitted for a signature club event per semester
Clubs hosting a career day may send one (1) email per academic year promoting the event
Clubs sponsoring an international trek (not domestic) may send one (1) email per academic year
To learn more on how to advertise your event, go to the Event Planning Page and review 10 Steps for planning your event
