Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
A1: Log into GU Experience, search for the course, and attempt to register. If the class is full, use the Action dropdown next to the course, select Waitlist, and submit.
Q2: Why can’t I register for a class even though it shows an open seat?
A2: If a class has a waitlist, any newly opened seat is temporarily reserved for the next student on the waitlist. The seat will only become available to others after the waitlist offer window expires.
Q3: How does waitlist priority work?
A3: Waitlist priority is based on program and class year (e.g., 2nd-year Full-Time and 3rd-year Flex have higher priority). Within each priority group, seats are offered in the order students joined the waitlist.
Q4: What are the add/drop deadlines?
A4: The official dates are published on the MBA Academic Calendar, which should always be checked for the most up-to-date information.
Q5: How do I add my class schedule to my Georgetown Google Calendar?
A5: Log in to GU Experience and go to Registration → View Registration. Select the appropriate semester, then click the calendar icon in the top-right corner to email yourself your course schedule. The email will include an .ics calendar file. Download the file, open Google Calendar, go to Settings → Import & Export, and upload the .ics file to add your classes to your calendar.
Q6: What do student organization leaders need to do to plan and approve an event?
A6: Leaders must review calendars, reserve space, submit an Event Request in HoyaConnect, and receive approval before advertising or hosting the event. An accompanying payment request should also be submitted if the event requires club funds. See MBA Event Planning for more details.
Q7: How many events is each MBA student organization required to host per year?
A7: Each MBA student organization must host at least two qualifying events per academic year, with at least one event per semester.
Q8: How do I receive my financial aid, or check the status of my financial aid?
A8: Students should log into GU Experience to review their Student Account and financial aid information, including disbursements and refunds. If you have questions or need additional assistance after reviewing GU Experience, contact the Office of Student Financial Services (OSFS) for support.
