Gown - Gown: Elements Master w/ Hood Button
Gown sizes are assigned based on height, with *1 and *2 indicating plus sizes (e.g., *1 = XL, *2 = XXL); for example, someone who is 5'8" and not a plus size would select gown size 507–509.
Cap - Cap: Elements

Select DRAB/PLATINUM/NAVY BLUE under Color
Choose “Georgetown University” for pickup at the Bookstore.

Not recommended since supplies may be limited.

When and how is my degree conferred?
Transcripts are issued by the University Registrar's Office and ordered through Parchment. View the Transcripts webpage for more details about official and unofficial transcripts.
It's best to check the Student Profile in GU Experience for the "Awarded Degree" notation before ordering a final transcript. Orders placed before you see the notation might be delayed or sent out without the award of the degree.
The Georgetown registrar's office will confer the MBA degree on your transcript as of
May 16 for spring graduates 🌸
Dec. 31 for fall graduates (posted in January after the University reopens from the holidays) 🍂
August 25 for summer graduates ☀️
Missing grades from faculty will delay degree conferral.
When are certificates and STEM conferred?
MBA certificates and the STEM-eligible Management Science major are conferred on your transcript when your MBA degree is conferred above.
For certificates, a printed certificate is also placed in your mailbox folder in the Program Office lobby of suite 390 during the week of graduation.
When are diplomas shipped?
Diplomas will be ordered by the registrar's office after degree conferral and are shipped by the Jostens vendor using the mailing address you provided when you applied to graduate.
🌸May graduates: Diplomas are ordered at the end of May and shipped approximately in early July.
☀️August graduates: Diplomas are ordered in September and shipped approximately in late September/October.
🍂December graduates: Diplomas are ordered in January and shipped in February.
Can I change my diploma name and mailing address?
You will verify your diploma name and mailing address when you apply to graduate.
Be sure to submit the name change form and supporting government-issued documentation if the diploma name you input differs in any way from what is on record in GU Experience.
Address updates made after applying to graduate in GU Experience are not reflected on the graduation application.
Addresses can't be changed once diplomas have been ordered.
Email mbaprogramoffice@georgetown.edu if you need to change your diploma mailing address after you have applied to graduate in GU Experience.
Please note:
Diplomas are large, measuring 14″ by 17″ (36cm by 43cm) and are only printed in Latin. View the translation of the Latin wording on your Georgetown University diploma.
On request, the Registrar’s Office issues a personalized English translation of the diploma words on regular-sized 8.5″ x 11″ paper. It does not resemble the diploma, but it can be useful in cases where the diploma is required as proof of graduation. There is no charge for this additional document. The Diploma Translation Request Form is online. Send any questions on the translation document to the Registrar’s Office at studentrecords@georgetown.edu.
University policy does not permit the release of either diplomas or final transcripts to students with unpaid balances greater than $100. Students with unpaid balances should contact Revenue and Receivables, the office of student accounts for more information or to clear their accounts.
MBA Graduation & Academic Credentials form
🍂Fall 2024 graduates: This form was due by Friday, Nov. 15.
🌸Spring 2025 & ☀️Summer graduates: Submit this form by Saturday, Feb. 1.
This form is used for you to:
Provide your previous school and degree information for publication in the University Commencement book.
Request the STEM Management Science major to be applied to your record, if you qualify.
Confirm the MBA certificate(s) you are on track to complete.
Prospective Summer 2025 graduates will be contacted during the summer to request STEM and certificates.
Prospective graduates must achieve passing grades in 54 approved credits with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.000.
View the MyDegree degree audit feature in GU Experience and the curriculum maps to ensure you are on track to complete your requirements. Contact the MBA Program Office if you have questions.
Use the "what-if" scenarios on MyDegree to gauge if you're on track:
For STEM: Major = Management Science, click Process.
For Certificates, choose the certificate type from the Specialization dropdown (e.g. Sustainable Business, Cert: Global Real Estate) and click Process.
Dual Degree students and students who took courses on a different timeline than their original MBA class should consult their program advisor regarding requirements.
This is where you provide your ceremony attendance (whether you plan to walk), your name pronunciation, claim tickets for guests if we have to have the ceremony inside, and submit disability accommodations/accessibility requests for guests.
The first email with instructions on filling out the Marching Order will be sent to you from msbevents@georgetown.edu in mid-March (Approximately).
Be sure to add msbevents@georgetown.edu to your "safe sender" list to not miss any important updates.
See the ceremony section for details.
Fill this out after your record is changed for STEM management science and MBA certificates:
🍂Fall graduates apply in mid-November and no later than Dec. 1.
🌸Spring graduates apply after the end of mod 4 add/drop and no later than May 1.
☀️Summer graduates apply in July and no later than Aug. 1.
Disregard University messaging that tells everyone to apply by Feb. 1. This does not apply to MBA students because of our modular schedule.
Follow these steps to apply:
🖥️Login to GU Experience -> Student Dashboard -> Student Profile -> Apply to Graduate (toward the bottom of the column of links below your photo).
🎓Select the term in which you will complete all degree requirements and the appropriate program -> Click Continue.
The default date will appear as the last day of the month regardless of the date set for graduation in that month. So, you should select:
May 31 for 🌸Spring graduation. Actual degree conferral date for MBA Graduates is May 16, 2025
Aug. 31 for ☀️Summer graduation. Actual degree conferral date for MBA Graduates is August 25, 2025
Dec. 31 for 🍂Fall graduation. Actual degree conferral date for MBA Graduates is December 31 2025
Dual degree students must create a separate graduation application for each degree. Contact both your advisors with questions.
🧑🎓Indicate whether or not you will be attending the May commencement ceremony -> Click Continue.
Note that you will need to provide attendance information in the Marching Order system separately during the spring.
📝Select the name you want to appear on your diploma -> Click Continue.
The first and last name must match the name on your student record per the Graduate Bulletin and it is traditional to show your full name on your diploma. Chosen Names entered in GU Experience will NOT be accepted for diplomas.
Please follow the steps outlined below if you want/need to make name changes to your diploma or if your middle name does not appear on your student record:
Select “new” and enter the name as you want it to appear.
You must submit a name change form and government-issued documentation to the Registrar’s Office if you entered a different name than what appears on your student record (even just a middle initial!). If your name is not changed by the Registrar’s Office within a month of your application to graduate, the name used for the diploma will be the one on your student record.
If your name has special characters such as accent marks, enter them in GU Experience. After you have completed the application to graduate, email mbaprogramoffice@georgetown.edu so that we can track this with the Registrar's Office, as the printer by default cannot produce all special characters.
🏠Select the address to which you want your diploma mailed.
If the address you want is not currently listed, select “New” and enter the appropriate information. International shipments must have a valid phone number.
Diplomas are ordered at approximately the end of May and shipped approximately in late June for May graduates.
Diplomas are ordered in late August and shipped approximately in late September/October for August graduates.
Diplomas are ordered in January and shipped in February for December graduates.
University policy does not permit the release of either diplomas or final transcripts to students with unpaid balances greater than $100. Students with unpaid balances should contact the Office of Revenues and Receivables for more information or to clear their accounts.
✅Verify the information you have entered. If everything is correct, click “Submit Request” to complete the process.
There is no email confirmation. Instructions on viewing an existing graduation application in GU Experience are below.
The graduation application will remain active through the clearance process until the degree is awarded by the Registrar’s Office.
The Program Office reviews student records and clears spring students to graduate during the week degrees are conferred. The names of the students who have fulfilled their degree requirements are shared with the Registrar's Office for posting.
If you need to check the format of your name or the delivery address for the diploma, you can follow the instructions above to use GU Experience to get to Student Profile.
Below the Graduation Information heading, click on the Active (#) link to the right of your photo.
This will bring up a new window with a heading of Graduation Application.
Under that heading, you will see the Request Date and confirmation that you have an “Active Application” that will be processed for the month noted in the Graduation Date in the next section. For May and August, the 31 date shown is not the actual graduation date.
Under Diploma Name, you will see the name as it will appear on your diploma. However, if the name differs (beyond writing out a middle name in place of an initial) from the one at the top of the screen next to "Information for", you will need to submit the name change form with government-issued documentation to the Registrar's Office.
The heading Diploma Mailing Address shows the address where the diploma will be sent.
If you need assistance changing any of this information, email mbaprogramoffice@georgetown.edu. Diploma mailing addresses cannot be changed after the Registrar's Office orders diplomas from the Jostens vendor.
