The Georgetown MBA program's Opening Term is an intensive three-week period that serves as an introduction to the curriculum through the "Structure of Global Industries" course. Click here to view the full Opening Term Schedule.

Be sure to mark your calendar for all Opening Term sessions, including your first in person program residency! This is a more intensive schedule with commitments beyond the typical core class schedule.

4- FXO Program Residency #1 (August 17 - August 23)
The MBA Program Office arranged a comfortable and convenient stay for your FXO Residency #1 in D.C.! This is your home base during the week and a great opportunity to connect in person with your cohort.
Below you’ll find key information to help you prepare.

We have reserved breakout rooms for you this week 9 a.m.-8 p.m. daily! This way you can work on your projects with your teams when you’re not in class:

Complimentary Breakfast, Wi-Fi, Fitness Center. For check-in, you must present your ID/document. Georgetown University will be covering Hotel (room charges) for students and incidentals will be covered by the student(s) themselves so they will need to provide a credit card to put on file.
If you'd like to arrive early or stay beyond the official residency dates and are paying out of pocket, please contact the hotel directly: lawrence.jones@riddc.com
We recommended that all students stay at the hotel. If you do not plan to use the hotel accommodations, please email mbaprogramoffice@georgetown.edu by July 31 so we can plan accordingly.
Transportation
All Georgetown students have access free of charge to Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS). The Hotel provided will be 1.5 blocks away from the Dupont Circle GUTS at 20th & P Streets, NW) . Parking won’t be provided. The Dupont route operates Monday through Friday from 6:00am to midnight.
Meals
Breakfast will be available free of charge at the hotel. Weekday lunch will be provided by Georgetown University. The cost of all the other meals is the responsibility of each student unless otherwise noted.
Dinner: Monday and Friday only - provided by Georgetown at Welcome & Closing Receptions.
Please note that the lodging and meals mentioned are provided for the Residency #1 (first year) only.
5- Flex (FX) and Flex Online (FXO) Nationals Game (Aug 17)
Join the Student Government Association–Flex (SGA-FX) for a fun day at Nationals Park on Sunday, August 17 as the Nationals take on the Philadelphia Phillies! This is a great opportunity for FX and FXO students to connect with classmates, meet peers across both programs, and build your MBA network in a relaxed setting.

6- Fall Class Begins (August 27, 2025)
The fall semester officially kicks off on Wednesday, August 27. Please note: classes will follow a Monday schedule on this day.
Be sure to check the MBA Academic Calendar and prepare in advance based on your faculty's Canvas course sites!
