All Time Off is to be requested for via BambooHR. In BambooHR you'll see which Time Off types that applies for you, depending on employment and other factors. Vacation is an important part of your work life and the idea behind the regulatory system regarding vacation is to guarantee that employees have the opportunity to rest and recover. As an employee at our Mannheim office you are entitled to 25 days of vacation per year (20 of those by law when working 5 days a week, 5 additional vacation days are granted by kursfinder GmbH). During the vacation period, employees are entitled to full remuneration.
The full vacation entitlement starts after an you have been on the job for six months. If you are terminated before these six months have passed or within the first half of a calendar year, the you will only be entitled to 1/12 of the annual vacation entitlement for each month of the employment relationship. In the event of termination after the first six months and within the second half of the calendar year, you will be entitled to the full annual vacation.
In general, you must take your annual holidays/vacation during the calendar year. Otherwise, it is forfeited. However, unused holiday can be carried forward until the 31st of March of the next calendar year if you were unable to take the holiday due to operational or personal reasons. The 5 additional vacation days granted by kursfinder GmbH may be carried forward until the next calendar year. If any holiday entitlement still remains at the end of the employment, employees can claim financial compensation for the days not taken.

If you get sick, you will have full pay for up to six weeks when you have been employed for four weeks pre-illness. If the illness continues for more than 2 days then proof of incapacity is required, outlining the incapacity itself and its duration.
After six week: After 6 weeks, the ‘Krankengeld’ (health insurance fund) pays sickness and benefits at 70% of the normal salary. Then you can receive sickness benefits for a maximum of 78 weeks (within a three year period) for any incapacity caused by the same illness or disability, calculated as of the first day of sickness.

If you are having a baby in Germany you may qualify for Mutterschaftsgeld or Maternity Allowance. Mutterschaftsgeld is a financial service paid by the Gesetzliche Krankenversicherung, the German State Health Insurance. It is financial support provided to pregnant women. You as a female employee are entitled to paid maternity leave, which is the time period 6 weeks before and 8 weeks after giving birth. The maternity leave after the birth has been extended to 12 weeks in case of multiple births, premature births and disabled children.
After birth of a child, both - male and female - employees are entitled to a maximum of three years’ parental leave per child. You have a statutory right to work part-time (between 15 and 30 hours per week) during parental leave unless urgent business reasons prevent such part time work. After expiry of the parental leave, you return to your previous position.

Any working parents are also entitled to receive sick days in order to take care of their sick child or children under 12 years old. You may take 10 working days for each child suffering illness, with a maximum of 25 days yearly. Single parents get a slightly larger allowance with 20 working days and up to 50 days yearly.

You are also entitled to the ‘Pflegezeitgesetz’, also known as the ‘Law on Family Care Time’ where employees can take up to a maximum of ten working days with unpaid leave to care for close relatives in urgent conditions. These ten days can also be taken to arrange care for close relatives.

Study Leave is an unpaid leave that we offer our employees that would like to study in our German office. Thus, your requested planning of the leave is up to the employer (usually your closest manager) to give approval for. Talk to your manager or you HR Business Partner if you have questions regarding this.

Bildungsurlaub allows employees by law to attend courses on special kinds of topics during their working time - up to 5 days per year. To enable this, courses and institutions need to be recognized for Bildungsurlaub. This can be reached by applying to the according ministries in Germany. If you have any questions regarding this, please talk with your closest manager.

Are you getting married? If you are getting married on a week day EMG gives you the wedding day off as one day paid leave. This only applies for you who are permanently employed and if the wedding day is not in July. It is also possible to take unpaid leave days before the wedding day.

We all know just how stressful moving into a new home can be, especially when moving day happens on a week day! As an employer we want to help you release that stress a bit by offer all permanent employed employees one day paid leave on moving day. This can be used once a year.

Loosing a close one is of course hard. At a funeral of a close relative one day's paid leave is given when the funeral is in Germany on weekdays (Permission). One extra day paid leave is given for funerals abroad that requires travel on weekdays. At the funeral of close relative the possibility of extra unpaid days exists (on leave). Related parties include husband and wife, cohabitants, children, parents, siblings, grandparents.

Navigate to Home and click "Request Time Off" in the My Info widget.
Enter the date(s) of the time off request.
Select the Time Off type.
Enter the amount. The amount will default to the default number of hours per day or 1 day if you are tracking the time off type in days instead of hours. If a time off request is over a company holiday, the amount will automatically default to 0 for that day.
Enter a note regarding the request.
Future balance. This will show you what your balance will be for each time off type on the first day of your request. Click the calculator icon to change the date in order to see your future balances as of a different date.
Send your request for approval.
Updating or canceling a time off request can be done two different ways:
Navigate to the Time Off tab and hover over the future request in the Upcoming Time Off section. Click on the edit button that appears upon hover.
Navigate to the Time Off tab and select the type you'd like to show from the History. Notice that there are two parts to the history: Earned/Used and Requests. Be sure to click "Requests" in order to see the request history. Then click on the status link next to the request you'd like to update.
Once you are viewing the request details, you can change the date, type, amount, or note. Then click "Save." Or, you can click "Cancel Request" if you no longer need to take the time off.
Good to know:
In order for a manager to update/cancel a request, it must be approved first.
As an employee, you can always edit a request if it is in the future. If the request is in the present or past, an administrator will need to update the request on your behalf, so here you need to contact you HR Business Partner.
