In Germany, employees belong to the national social security system by law. The statutory social security system is regulated in the Social Security Codes (Sozialgesetzbuch – SGB). It covers the following principal areas: health insurance, unemployment insurance, nursing care insurance, pension and accident insurance.

In addition to the above coverage an individual insurance for all employees is also covered by the group. The coverage provides compensation for damage that may occur while traveling on business. It includes among other things: accidents, illness, travel interruptions and delays, lost possessions and more. This insurance is subscribed through the company Europeiska ERV.
