James - Advisory 7

Project: 

My project last term was to research the history of the Australian Accent and investigate how and why it had changed over the years. I chose to do a comic so I could simplify my research and share it with others.

Process: 

Originally I wanted to make it more character focused but that would have made it hard to fit in all the information. I began with a detailed timeline in my portfolio then broke it down into comic pages with rough sketches.

Product: 

My product is a short comic that looks at how the Australian accent evolved and has changed throughout time, spanning from the 1830s to the modern day.

Project: 

My project last term was about the history of Ancient Rome and its similarities with and effects on today's society. I focused particularly on its history, as well as its governmental structure and democratic methods.

Process: 

To create my product I used an online tool called TimelineJS, which functions off a Google Sheets template to create an interactive timeline presentation. My process involved going step by step researching prominent events in the time period I was covering (753 BCE - 44 BCE), and writing all of my dates and information into my magic Google Sheet, as well as attaching media embeds like images and Google Maps locations to add visual elements to my presentation.

Product: 

My product is a timeline presentation that aims to visualise and educate people about the history of Ancient Rome during the Pre-Imperial era. It is fully interactive and features lots of visual elements, as well as a scrollable dated timeline at the bottom of the page. The main focus point of the presentation was on the First, Second, and Third Punic Wars, as well as the prominent events following them.
