Cooks Hill Campus acknowledges the Awabakal and Worimi Peoples, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our school is built (Muloobinba). We respect their long history, ancestry and culture. We pay our respects to the Elders, past, present and emerging for they carry the memories and traditions of past times.
We acknowledge their strength and resilience, and enduring connection to the local lands and waters.
We would also like to extend our acknowledgment to other First Nations Peoples, and our Aboriginal students, teachers, parents, carers and community.
Welcome to TGIF 201, the first TGIF edition written by Advisory 3! These past couple of weeks have been quite eventful, with Exhibition Week behind us, 12th graders graduating, and the Informal happening this week, there is quite a bit to talk about! That being said, we will always have room for Pet of the Week...
ENJOY!

Another successful Exhibition Week was held in Week 9 of Term 3.
Students highlighted their learning through all of the 6 Big Picture Learning Goals, Learning Through Internship (LTI), TVET, SBAT, TAFE Start Your Future courses, Open Foundation and the term requirements!
A large number of students completed their GATEWAY project, and 26 students did their FINAL EXHIBITION!
All students were celebrated by family and friends, while receiving excellent feedback they can take forward into the next learning cycle (or beyond school).
Meeting at Fort Scratchley, parents, graduates, friends, family, students and teachers were brought together in celebration of our year 12’s graduation. We intended to gather quotes to capture the night, but as soon as Chappell Roan’s 'Hot To Go' came on, everyone was glued to the dance floor. The night started with beautiful drinks, dinner and dancing, and ended with more dancing, photos, and a dessert bar. We all got our share of memories to take home from the photo booth (unless you couldn’t brave the line-up), everyone looking stunning in their outfits. We owe it all to Chloe for making it happen, who organised the event and booked the incredible venue. The Informal was a night to remember, and a lively farewell for 2024’s year 12’s.

We are here to celebrate 26 young people who are finishing their CHC journey. These graduates have overcome many obstacles, challenged themselves, learnt new skills, developed lifelong friendships and supported each other to think creatively and challenge stereotypes.
This cohort is our largest graduating class yet! We continue to grow and challenge mainstream thinking, with phenomenal projects, exceptional outlearning opportunities and completed projects that surpass work of same age peers.
Each Graduation, I always stand here proud and emotional, as we send our young people forward into a world of University, TAFE, Employment and most importantly a meaningful life beyond school.
My book of choice for 2024 is Stand Up, Stand Out By Joel Pilgrim, Illustrated by Mitch Revs. The book is beautiful, with so many positive messages throughout. I hope my recount does the story justice….
Parry a Parrot struggles with his mental health, some days he feels like he isn’t enough and getting out of bed is hard.
Parry meets Lori, who as it turns out has worries and fears herself…. through conversation and kindness they then decide to expand their support network to connect with multiple other/ different birds.
Together they start a fancy dress (my favourite) Surfing club… in which all the other birds join in. They become one big colourful flock, supporting each other and being there for each other- regardless of their colour, size or personality.
Quote: “The message was clear for everyone to see: Be comfortable in your own feathers, whatever they be.”
You my darlings are all so very unique, distinctly yourselves and courageous young people. You are our 2024 flock who all have your interests, challenges and ambitions.I am very proud of each and everyone of you.
I wish each of you all the best for your futures, whatever that may be…. You are the young adults who inspire me to be a better version of myself and I hope your time at Cooks Hill Campus has inspired you, to be the best version of yourself too.
Gooduck, Stay Well, Stay connected.
Quinn.
Graduation Ceremony Observations:
Mostly happy faces; Tissues; Applause for students again and again; Some of this cohort started at CHC in lock-down on Zoom; All of them are Quinn's favourite; Tears and tears; Adivsor speeches; LST video got some laughs; Lilly C sang - amazing even without best mic; Wizard Hats and Bucket Hats; more tears; Phelissitie's instructions and walk-through mid-ceremony was brilliant.

GRADUATION DAY BEHIND THE SCENES DOCUMENTARY by Jackson
On Fridays, Mr Stranger and Felicity D take the Drama Social Action Project group.
Here is a taste of what they have been up to in Term 3. [You can view this version: Finley's re-edit, if you are signed into your @education account.] As featured by Jackson in his Exhibition.
PET OF THE WEEK: Lizzy
For this edition of TGIF’s 'pet of the week' we have… Lizzy! Lizzy (AKA Elizabeth when she's being naughty) is Selasi from Advisory 3's horse. Lizzy is an ex-thoroughbred bay horse who likes to eat grass all day long. She is very sassy and funny and loves to pretend she's not interested in you but really is. She hates to be groomed but loves being fed and will get food from you whenever possible. "She also loves to kiss me when I'm laying down in the paddock with her."
