We would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we live, learn and work, the Awabakal and Worimi people and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. We pay our respects to elders past, present and future and acknowledge their spiritual connection to the country.
These last two weeks have seen the beginning of our school’s breakfast club, the return of Wellbeing groups, and a visit from some Red Frogs. In this edition, brought to you by the Aquarium, we look at some projects students are engaged with this term, a recipe for a tasty treat, some pets of the week, and other interesting nitbits. Enjoy!
Here, we have Teigha reporting on students with some interesting projects this term.

Today, the 8th of November, we celebrate School Counsellor and School Psychologist Recognition Day, which is a day to celebrate and thank the hard working counsellor team across schools in NSW. Here at Cooks Hill Campus, we are celebrating our wonderful counsellors Deb and Nadia, who are somewhat new additions to our wellbeing team. They work closely with students, giving them the care and support they deserve. Nadia is located upstairs in the wellbeing hub on Thursdays, and Deb is located upstairs in the wellbeing hub on Fridays.
Outside of school, and the wellbeing support it offers, you can access extra help at places like;
Headspace - provides information, support and services to people aged 12 - 25.
Kids Helpline - provides free, confidential and private 24/7 online and phone support.
Qlife - Provides anonymous LGBTQIA+ support and information.
For further information on where to find extra help or different sources, you can visit the wellbeing page on Canvas, and find the ‘need support?’ red button.

Fundraiser for Amnesty
Next Friday on the 15th of November, Cooks Hill Campus will be fundraising for the organisation Amnesty International.
It is an out of uniform day and we are asking you to bring a gold coin donation to support Amnesty's help in supporting those in need and advocating for human rights.
During SAP-G that week, we will also have the opportunity to participate in the 'Write for Rights' program where you write letters to address injustices and support people whose human rights are under threat.
Big Breakfast
Next Wednesday, the 13th of November, the cooking SAP-G group will be hosting a Big Breakfast at school from 8am onwards. There will be toasties and pancakes and all sorts of delicious consumables.
Please RSVP in order to help them prepare at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfVBPCmERrqEXDvsguE1fHf_6cu-SRIQUoJpC_NGXplu5irUQ/viewform
