Mental Health Month
October is Mental Health Month in NSW. This years theme is 'Let's talk about it' aims to prompt everyone to reflect on their mental health and wellbeing. It highlights the need to maintain good health, support others and seek help when needed.
We believe checking in with others shouldn't be limited to the advisory. So here are some check in questions that could help spark conversations in the playground and/or during sport.

Amnesty Day
Amnesty Day
On the 15th of November (Friday week 5), Cooks Hill Campus will be fundraising for the organisation Amnesty International, who are all about supporting people in need and advocating for human rights. It will be an out of uniform day, and we ask that you bring a gold coin donation. You also have the opportunity to participate in the "Write for Rights" program during SAPG that day, which is an annual event where you write letters to fight injustices and support people whose human rights are under threat. You don't need to be good at writing as there are pre-written letters you can utilise, you just need to want to help make change. If you think you might be interested in attending that event you should indicate so in the survey that should be getting sent around soon.

World's Greatest Shave
World's Greatest Shave
At the end of this term, I (Breanna) have organised to run the World's Greatest Shave. I think the Leukaemia Foundation is a worthy cause which needs more awareness. Each year around 4,500 people are diagnosed with a form of leukaemia in Australia. I would love for people to join me in raising awareness and funds. If you are willing to shave, cut or colour your hair please let me know and sign up below.
I am also on the hunt for a hairdresser to volunteer their time if you know of any.

Bealfire is a 5 year old bearded dragon! He is pet of the week because he is unique and makes a great familiar for a wizard.
Some fun facts about bearded dragons:

They can sleep standing up.
They can run at human speed.
