In these last two weeks students have been organising and participating in their Advisory Christmas parties and our end of year pool party at the Ocean Baths. In this edition, brought to you by The Attic (Advisory 5), we wrap up the year with images of these celebrations. Enjoy!
Acknowledgement of Country
Cooks Hill Campus acknowledges the Awabakal and Worimi Peoples, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our school is built. We respect their long history, ancestry and culture. We pay our respects to the Elders of the past and present. We acknowledge their strength and resilience, and enduring connection to the local lands and waters.
We would also like to extend our acknowledgment to other First Nations Peoples, and our Aboriginal students, teachers, parents, carers and community.

Thankyou for an amazing year at Cooks Hill Campus. 2024 was a phenomenal year- with students' projects and out-learning experiences stretching their thinking beyond the school's four walls. As we approach the holiday season, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on your accomplishments and remember all the things you completed in "2024- The Year of Doing More!"
This year presented staff, students and families with some challenges. Coming together to support each other is one of the strengths of being part of the Cooks Hill Campus community. I would like to acknowledge the kindness, generosity and care that CHC shows when we face adversity. I love being part of such a lovely community and am thankful for this each and every day!
Congratulations to all the students who are moving on from CHC, and tackling employment, TAFE or University. Your project-based learning skills, self-direction and adult thinking, will allow you to succeed in any pathway you undertake. To all the students who are returning to CHC in 2025- we look forward to hearing about your holidays and what accomplishments and personal goals you are working on in 2025.
Personally, a huge thankyou to the CHC team! I would like to thank all the CHC staff, who make working at CHC such a rewarding and inspiring experience. Your work with students, mentors, colleagues and families, make a difference everyday. This team of educators are one of the most dedicated teams I have ever worked with. I know that each staff member plays a critical role in your students lives and they are valued beyond measure. Thankyou Chloe and Phelissitie for your leadership in 2024 and I hope all staff get the opportunity to relax and rejuvenate over this Christmas break.
School returns for all students on Thursday 6th February 2025. We will not be running sport / senior study on this day. Students will be in their Advisory spaces- meeting our new 20 students and setting up for a busy Term. (More information about the start up of school will be shared via Audiri next year).
Happy Holidays everyone! I am looking forward to sleep-ins and reading some books- maybe even a Netflix binge or two!

We had a great time at our end of year Pool Party at the Ocean Baths.
Thank you to Christine and Caylin and Niamh for bringing the donkeys from Donkey Welfare with Heart. Party Girl and Missy came to Cooks Hill Campus in Exhibtion Week to assist Niamh to deliver her 'Who am I?' exhibition.
This semester, our students have had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Top Blokes mentoring program that helps young boys and males redefine what it means to be a ‘top bloke’—one who is resilient, empathetic, and authentic.
Through proactive, long-term mentoring, this program has provided the young men at CHC with essential tools for growth and wellbeing, with weekly discussions on mental health, managing emotions, safe partying, sexual health and fostering the skills of being a Top Bloke!
More than just a program, it’s about building strong, confident young men who can lead with integrity and kindness. We're so proud of the progress the students at CHC have made in completing the program!

In Week 9, all students celebrated Christmas with an advisory party.
We have continued to achieve wide-scale student successes in accessing university entry, and pathways into further study. Including our 100% success rate, year after year, from Cooks Hill Campus, with students accessing university entry without the HSC.
We celebrated Dascha Harrison, who is in Year 12 at Cooks Hill Campus, being named the NSW School Based Trainee of the Year, WOW. She then went on, and was named the National SBAT runner up. What an outstanding accolade from yet another alumni from our school excelling, in her aspirations to be a doctor, achieving her goals without a HSC.
Our Cooks Hill Campus Big Picture continues to be held up nationally and internationally as a program of excellence and educational innovation, supporting outstanding outcomes for all of our graduates who engage in, and invest, in our unique and personalised approach to strengths-based learning through passion.
All of this represents that the graduating students of our school are heading into adult life with the world at their feet, to take on whatever it is they are passionate about and aspiring to achieve.
