Respondus LockDown Browser: Keep Quizzes Secure

Use LockDown Browser to restrict your students from leaving the Canvas quiz tab during a quiz. The capability is great, but the steps are a bit unusual.

For step-by-step directions for teachers, click on the "Teacher" link on the right. Take a look at this FAQ document for limitations and known issues.

(Additionally, you can use Blocksi to lock students into quizzes. You can find those directions here.)

Syncing Grades from Canvas to Infinite Campus

Follow the step-by-step directions by clicking the image on the right. You can set up a nightly sync or you can manually sync your grades.

Mastering Modules

The organization of content in your course should be intuitive for students. Accomplish this by using the course calendar and organizing your content very strategically in modules. And don't miss that powerful options to set requirements for completion to make progress tracking easier for students and teachers!

Question Banks

Creating Questions Banks keeps you organized, but better yet, you can use them to make assessment questions varied for each student while still pulling from the same bank/topic.

Annotating PDFs

One of the questions asked a lot is how to annotate on PDFs. Right now, there are 3 options:

Canvas Quizzes - Coming Soon!

Participate in this self-paced course to learn about Canvas Quizzes.

The quizzing tool in Canvas ("Quizzes") allows the teacher to create assignments that can be graded by Canvas. Don't just think of Canvas Quizzes as a "quiz," "exam," "assessment," or "test;" it can be anything! The teacher sets the correct answer and Canvas grades it automatically! Quizzes can also be used for surveys- collect data without designating a correct answer. Teachers might use Quizzes to create homework problems, mastery-checks, or unit reviews. In addition to grading for the teacher, students can receive instant feedback after they submit a "Quiz." The Canvas Quizzes tool allows for multiple question types (e.g., multiple choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, essay, matching, etc.), randomized questions, and feedback options. Quiz settings also allows for the customization of things like the number of attempts a student may submit, time limits, and the display of correct responses and feedback from the instructor.
