Beyond the Basics

Making Your Form a Graded Quiz

    • You have the option to make your Google Form a quiz, where each question has an answer key and feedback. Google Form will automatically score most questions, and you can manually grade open-ended responses.

    • To make your Form a Quiz, go to the Settings gear (upper-right). In the pop-up window, there are three tabs/sections. Click on the Quizzes tab and toggle on the feature for your Form.

Using Locked Mode for Form Quizzes

    • If your Google Form is set to be a quiz, and you are using management Chromebooks (Edmond Chromebooks and Edmond-Google accounts), then you can use Locked Mode! With Locked Mode, the teacher is notified when students go to another tab during the quiz. Click here to read about it!

'Branching' in Forms

also known as:"Go To Question Based On Answer"

Direct Form participants to different sections or questions based on either (a) their answer choice, or (b) the section they complete.

Add-Ons

"Add-Ons" give you additional functionality in Google Docs, Sheets, and Forms. They literally add on to what is possible in your files!

A FEW FAVORITE ADD ONS

NOTE: If you receive an error message because the add on is not yet approved, just move on to a different one.

  • formLimiter - Closes the Form after a set number of responses.

  • Choice Eliminator 2 - Removes answer choices after they have been selected. (Great for potluck sign-ups!)

  • docAppender - Append Form responses to the bottom of selected Google Docs. Think of it as keeping individualized running records of Forms you use repeatedly, such as observation feedback.

  • Form Publisher - Turn Google Forms submissions into a Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides or PDF. Share the file by email and save it in Drive. (only 100 free per month)

  • All Questions Required - Require all questions with a single click. (You can also set your Forms preferences to make this the default... without an Add-On.)
