Loom for Chrome

Loom is a Chrome extension that can be added to your Chrome browser. Look for it in the Chrome Web Store. Loom provides you with a recording countdown, the ability to add your photo or video to the screen as you are recording, and your FREE educator upgrade allows you to trim your recording. Once you have completed your recording, you receive a link to your video that you can share out or post somewhere (Canvas, email, etc.). Loom videos can also be downloaded. Sign up for your FREE educator upgrade now.

Screencastify - Screen Video Recorder

Screencastify is another Chrome extension that can be added to your Chrome browser. Look for it in the Chrome Web Store. Screencastify provides you with a recording countdown, gives you drawing tools to draw as you are recording, and highlights your cursor with a red circle when you click to help viewers follow your moves. Screencastify can be set up to immediately upload to your Google Drive after you record, however if you are going to have lots of people access to video, your best bet is to download the video and upload it somewhere else (into Canvas) or users will get an error message.

ScreenPal

ScreenPal is a website. Once you go to the website, you will be prompted to "Start a recording for free" or "Sign up, It's Free." A download will start and on-screen prompts lead you through using the tool. For FREE, you are provided with a recording countdown, ability to trim recording from beginning or end, add music, add closed-captioning (via text upload), and one of our favorite features is the ability to highlight your cursor which helps your viewers follow your cursor in the video. You can download the file or get a link to the file to share out or post somewhere.
