What to do if...

A STUDENT BREAKS MULTIPLE CHROMEBOOKS

If a student breaks or loses their original Chromebook and then breaks or loses their loaner Chromebook, please follow the steps below.

  1. Notify an administrator.

  2. The administrator will call in the student to discuss the situation.

  3. Depending on the situation, the administrator will decide how to handle these two areas:

Financial Responsibility

  • Check for an STPP purchase

    • Charge the student for the loaner Chromebook (after talking to parents).

  • Note charge for the loaner Chromebook.

Use of Device(s) Moving Forward Options

  • Check out another loaner Chromebook to the student.

  • Make other technology arrangements for the student

      • Ex: Have the student check out a Chromebook each morning, and check it back in at the end of each day. (In this case, it is the school’s responsibility to make sure student complies.)

A NEW STUDENT NEEDS A CHROMEBOOK

DAY ONE

1. The registrar will have a new student register/enroll through the online registration process in Infinite Campus. As part of enrollment, the guardian will view the Responsible Use Agreement then check the box agreeing to the terms. This must be checked in order to move forward. A copy of the Student Technology Protection Plan is linked for the guardian to view. If they want the plan, the fee is paid to the financial secretary. Once it is paid, a member of the office staff will need to mark the checkbox in IC.

2. Once all the information is entered into Infinite Campus correctly, the student’s network login will be created. This process could take up to 3 hours. The student will then use this information to open the Infinite Campus portal and view have the Annual Student Review. After the student watches the ASR, Infinite Campus will automatically update the Annual Student Review box in Infinite Campus.

3. Students will check out a new chromebook through Destiny from the site designated Chromebook Manager. They will login to the device with their network login and default password. Once in their new device, they will go to the Self-Serve Password Reset site in EPS Bookmarks and create an account to reset their password.
