There are 2 options to choose from for online training:
Everything from A-Z
In the "Everything from A-Z" course you will learn EVERYTHING you need to know about Canvas, including how to create assignments, pages, modules, quizzes to feedback and grading in Canvas. This course will also outline Edmond Public School's (EPS) expectations for using Canvas.
FastTrack
The "FastTrack" course is designed for users who are already familiar with Canvas; maybe you used it in another district. In this course you will learn about Edmond Public School's (EPS) expectations for using Canvas and will be required to submit assignments (there is NO training or tutorials, just assignments) demonstrating your proficiency in using Canvas.
In EPS we use the "Canvas for Elementary" design in our 4th & 5th grades, so if you are a 4th or 5th grade teacher and you are not familiar with that design, you might want to take the "Everything from A-Z" course.
Participate in this self-paced course to learn about Canvas Quizzes.
The quizzing tool in Canvas ("Quizzes") allows the teacher to create assignments that can be graded by Canvas. Don't just think of Canvas Quizzes as a "quiz," "exam," "assessment," or "test;" it can be anything! The teacher sets the correct answer and Canvas grades it automatically! Quizzes can also be used for surveys- collect data without designating a correct answer. Teachers might use Quizzes to create homework problems, mastery-checks, or unit reviews. In addition to grading for the teacher, students can receive instant feedback after they submit a "Quiz." The Canvas Quizzes tool allows for multiple question types (e.g., multiple choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, essay, matching, etc.), randomized questions, and feedback options. Quiz settings also allows for the customization of things like the number of attempts a student may submit, time limits, and the display of correct responses and feedback from the instructor.
