MR. KEEL
MR. KEEL
In 8th grade physical science students will engage in an in-depth exploration of physics and chemistry and the concepts that link these two disciplines. Students will use motion, forces, and energy, to examine how physics affects our everyday lives on a macro scale. We will transition from physics to chemistry by investigating energy and establishing that, because matter adheres to the same principles that larger objects do, chemistry also depends on the physical interaction of molecules. After mastering the basics of atomic structure and the periodic table, students will apply their knowledge to investigations of how and why chemical reactions occur. Students will engage in collaborative classroom activities, perform interactive laboratory experiments, and analyze real-world problems to achieve mastery of relevant standards.
