Precalculus is the study of functions, trigonometry, polar coordinates, vectors, and an introduction to calculus. Students work throughout the year to gain fundamental skills to be successful in problem solving and applying their learning to the real world. Students take the skills they learn in the class and apply them to real world situations to gain an understanding of how mathematics impacts the world around them. To do this students analyze problems with creativity and critical thinking skills to come up with solutions and then present them in logical fashions. From this course they will have gained the necessary skills to pursue higher level mathematics courses along with the ability to critically analyze their surroundings.
