This course is organized thematically with each unit focused upon a larger concept and then broken into smaller issues to be investigated throughout each quarter. Themes for the year will include: imperialism, revolutions, conflict and compromise, social movements, and economic inequality. Organizing the curriculum by theme allows for students to develop a deeper understanding of how an issue develops over time. This process will help inspire intellectual curiosity, promote a deeper engagement with the past, and empower students to be active participants in their learning as they develop their own answers.
