AP Calculus AB is the equivalent of the first semester university introductory Calculus course. This course covers all of the topics needed for the American College Board AP Calculus AB exam. These topics include but are not limited to Limits, Derivatives, Integrals and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. During the course, students will develop an understanding of the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus and realize its relationship between derivatives and definite integral. They will support a solution using graphical, numerical, analytical, algebraic, and both verbal and written responses. Students will also develop an appreciation for a historical perspective of calculus.
