To the right and left of my ribbon, there is a broken chain. I added this to my block because it resembles the animals that were able to escape their abusive situations. There are many happy stories where animals who have been abused get their happy ending, but like the chain, there are still more links attached, so there are still more animals that are getting abused and need to be saved.

I have a purple ribbon right in the middle of the block, because this is the color of animal abuse awareness. This lets people know that animal abuse is still an ongoing problem, and unfortunately, won't stop anytime soon. 

Up on the top of my quilt block, I have different kinds of paw prints “walking” across. I have a dog paw print, a cow, a chicken, and a pig print. The reason I have these is because I want people to know that not only do house animals like dogs and cats get abused, but farm animals are also severely abused.
