Cross Country
The Clifton Cross Country team has demonstrated outstanding dedication and sportsmanship throughout the season. Competing in events in and around Pietermaritzburg. Our team was led by James Witherspoon and Jordan Reeve. They did a remarkable job throughout the season. Their dedication, encouragement, and support to the junior runners cultivated a strong team ethic.
Wonderful results were achieved and new friendships made at all the meets. The away events were held at Epworth, St Charles, Laddsworth, Cordwalles and Cowan House.
One of the highlights of the season was when we hosted our own cross country event at Clifton. We hosted over 200 runners from various schools. It was a day filled with enthusiasm and support, as our runners gave their best on home turf. The event was a testament to our team's hard work. Thanks must go to Mr Pete Greene for allowing us to run through his forest, and all staff who made the day a successful event.
Another exciting event on the calendar is our Inter-House Cross Country. This event has full participation from the school from Grades 3 – 7. With much excitement the runners set off in a battle between Blue, Red and Green. With Barbarians coming home first with 128 points, Crusaders a close second with 114 points and Trojans with 112 points in third place.
As we reflect on this season, we are filled with pride and optimism for next year’s season. The experiences gained and the bonds formed have undoubtedly added to the excitement of getting back out onto the trails. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the runners, parents, and staff who have supported and cheered for our team.
