Dear George Moses Horton Middle School Community,
I hope this letter finds you well. We have exciting news and upcoming events to share with our Wildcat family!
I am thrilled to announce that George Moses Horton Middle School has received a "School of Distinction" award for excellent growth with our English Language Learners. This recognition is a testament to the incredible dedication of our students and the unwavering support of the adults in their lives who assist with language acquisition. These students not only work to learn the curriculum in each class and navigate the social aspects of middle school but also do so while trying to process a new language.
Last year, we celebrated as multiple students successfully exited the ELL program. It's fascinating to note that over 20 languages are spoken in Chatham County Schools, highlighting the rich diversity of our community.
I invite all of our Wildcat families to join us for our combined Fall Festival and Curriculum Night on Thursday evening. This event promises to be both informative and enjoyable for all.
The schedule is as follows:
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Curriculum Presentations
Our dedicated teachers will share valuable information about what your students will be learning in their classes this year. Families can report to their child’s classrooms for this information beginning at 4:00 pm.
5:00 PM-7:00 PM Fall Festival (Click Here for More Information )
Join us for an evening of community bonding as we eat, play games, and enjoy the beautiful fall weather together. Our Fall Festival will take place in the front parking lot.
This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with teachers, fellow parents, and students while celebrating the academic year.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
Go Wildcats!
