LEADERSHIP
December 01, 2024
This week, I want to share some exciting highlights about the incredible work happening in our school, particularly within our outstanding Math Department. Our math teachers go far beyond simply teaching curriculum standards – they are dedicated to building foundational math skills that will serve our students throughout their lives.
What makes our Math Department truly special is its commitment to connecting classroom learning with real-world applications. They don't just teach mathematical concepts; they help students understand how these skills translate into practical, everyday situations. From exploring financial literacy to demonstrating how mathematical thinking solves complex problems, our teachers are preparing students for bright and prosperous futures.
This week, we will be conducting our STAR Benchmarks on December 5th and 6th. These assessments are crucial as they help us measure our students' overall performance levels in Reading and Math. The data we collect allows our teachers to make informed, data-driven decisions that directly benefit our students' learning experiences.
As we enter the holiday season, we are mindful of the diverse backgrounds and traditions within our school community. Our goal is to continue building strong connections and celebrating the unique strengths of each of our students and families. We will be sharing more information about our upcoming celebrations in the near future, and we look forward to creating meaningful experiences that bring our school community together. I am hopeful that our plans for a holiday spirit week and other activities will build community and spread joy across Wildcat Country.
Our educational mission remains steadfast: to reduce the predictability of who succeeds and who fails in our school and prepare all of our students for bright and prosperous futures. Thank you for your support in this mission.
Have a wonderful week!
Best regards,
Mr. Robinson
CULTURE
SYSTEMS
PowerSchool is an advanced Student Information System used by schools across the country. Its functions include grading, attendance, and the scheduling of courses. PowerSchool is capable of allowing parents and students to access student grades and attendance in real time, as well as state assessment individual reports. The purpose of this feature is to increase communication and collaboration among parents, students, and teachers. It gives parents and guardians more information about their child’s education and encourages students to take increased ownership of their learning.
Parents/Guardians are provided an opportunity each fall to review their contact information and their student's information in PowerSchool, yet it is important to contact our data manager Mrs. Bland if any parent/guardian or student information has changed at any time during the year. This will ensure families receive all school communications including (but not limited to) report cards, inclement weather notifications, emergencies, and weekly updates from the school.
