Dear GMH Families,
I hope you are having a safe, warm, and wonderful weekend. This week’s message contains important information for the upcoming week or two. Please take a moment to review the information.
Basketball Game vs. Pollard
We invite you to join us for what promises to be an exciting basketball game against Pollard this Thursday. This is always a well-attended community event that showcases our school spirit. The PTSA will hold a brief meeting between games to discuss several exciting capital projects planned for our school's improvement.
Martin Luther King Day of Service - January 20th
We are proud to announce our participation in the Chatham County Schools MLK Day of Service on January 20th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Our community will come together to create support packages for those affected by Hurricane Helene in Western Carolina. We are currently collecting gloves until January 16th as part of this initiative. Your participation in this meaningful service project would be greatly appreciated. For more information, please reach out to Ms. Terry at sterry@chatham.k12.nc.us.
End of Nine Weeks & Report Cards
The second nine weeks grading period ends this Friday, January 17th
Report cards will be distributed through PowerSchool on January 30th
We encourage you to review your student's current grades and discuss any concerns with teachers before the grading period ends
YONDR Pouch Updates
We will be conducting a "hard reset" of our YONDR pouch procedures beginning January 23rd.
Please:
Review the cell phone policies and YONDR protocols (YONDR Pouch Policy)
Contact the office if your student needs a new pouch
Note that there is a $25 fee for damaged or lost pouches
We appreciate your continued support in maintaining a focused learning environment through the YONDR system.
As always, thank you for your partnership in making GMH a vibrant and supportive learning community.
Best regards,
Mr. Robinson

CULTURE
SYSTEMS
PowerSchool is an advanced Student Information System used by schools across the country. Its functions include grading, attendance, and the scheduling of courses. PowerSchool is capable of allowing parents and students to access student grades and attendance in real time, as well as state assessment individual reports. The purpose of this feature is to increase communication and collaboration among parents, students, and teachers. It gives parents and guardians more information about their child’s education and encourages students to take increased ownership of their learning.
Parents/Guardians are provided an opportunity each fall to review their contact information and their student's information in PowerSchool, yet it is important to contact our data manager Mrs. Bland if any parent/guardian or student information has changed at any time during the year. This will ensure families receive all school communications including (but not limited to) report cards, inclement weather notifications, emergencies, and weekly updates from the school.
