Jacket YOUniversity first launched in the 2018-2019 school year as a gamified professional development program for Calhoun City Schools.  Jacket YOUniversity 2.0 is the updated version for the 2019-20 school year. As participants engage in PLC’s and professional training, they will have the opportunity to create artifacts of their learning as they apply the freshly learned practices in their classrooms. For each challenge completed, teachers will receive points which can accumulate throughout the year to unlock badges and rewards.

There are 9 professional learning bundles - specifically built for a staff member to choose one that corresponds with their interest or learning goals. These bundles are supported with on-site trainings provided by district support staff. In addition to the 9 professional development bundles, we are also providing training that will lead towards certification in specialized areas such as Google Certified or Capturing Kids Hearts with L.A.U.N.C.H. Certification.

The result of personalized learning is educators eager to learn in an engaging way, and have a platform to showcase evidence of learning in their classroom.
