The End is near....

May provides busy and chaotic days with our students, and often times crazy afternoons in our personal lives. You counting the minutes until the final bell May 25th when the hectic times give way to lazy days of summer, but are your students? For many of our students they are facing a summer of uncertainty. The past ten months have been full of routine and two meals a day. Over the summer will they have that? They aren't sure. Behaviors tend to rise in May for this very reason.

So while you are feeling the strain of pouring yourself into these young people throughout the past year and looking forward to sleeping in, vacations, and free time remember that many of our boys and girls are not happy to be away from you.

As we enter this last week keep in mind that the behaviors you may be experiencing with difficult students may not be because they have 'lost their mind', but rather may be scared of what is to come.

Hang in there. Be patient with them. Give all you have until the last student gives their final goodbye hug, handshake, or high five. Leave this year's class something positive to remember about you and your classroom. You will always be a part of these students' history. Make it good.

“A good teacher is like a candle – it consumes itself to light the way for others.”

What is Fortnite?

Have you heard about it? Are your students or your own kids into it? Why did it put David Price on the disabled list?

Here is a narrative article on how Fortnite has captured teens' hearts and minds.

If you have missed a training opportunity and would like to schedule it either alone during your planning or with a grade level/department please submit a tech ticket and time will be scheduled when it is convenient for you.
