Several teachers from both the Complex and Campus joined us for the Georgia Educational Technology Conference in Atlanta last week. The group had a great time learning about new strategies and tools to use in the classroom. Below is their favorite tech tool they learned about. Take a few minutes to learn about the highlights from GaETC by viewing screencasts, reading about their favorites, and following the links to check out some really cool ideas for your classroom.

The web version is great for classroom use and there is also an extension you could use for quick annotations over a PDF.

During the conference I learned about Flipgrid, a website/app where you can post a topic and have students record a timed video and upload it. Only people with the class code are able to view the videos and they do not need an account or email to record. I’m loving the app so far and even though some students were hesitant at when I first introduced it, it seems like they are enjoying being able to add silly emojis to their thumbnails and watching each other's videos.

Rewordify can modify any online text so it is at the reading level your students need.

PDF Candy is a great tool for converting files from one format to another.

Kay Carpenter-Canva

Canva is a great graphic design site that allows you to create posters, flyers, newsletters, bookmarks, and many other graphic design projects for use in your classroom. Students can even access this site to create their own flyers or posters for class use.

Welcome!

On this site you will be able to find resources to help you implement effective technology in your classroom. Screencasts will be uploaded after we have Professional Training sessions in order to provide you with the information on your time and at your pace.

We hope you find the resources helpful, and please feel free to provide feedback after you utilize a resource. This feedback will help us to maintain the site and keep it as user friendly and useful as possible.
