12 Days of Christmas Sites

This time of year can be exhausting with testing, deadlines, meetings, and the craziness that is students in December. Below you will find 12 sites for you and your students to explore for a little holiday fun.  We hope you enjoy, and have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Need a little boost for classroom management in the younger grades? Pull up the Santa Tracker and see how quiet and still students will become! Students will also enjoy the many different games available.

Older grades: This site is also great for learning about Geography as Santa makes stops all over the world, calculate distance and speed required to make all the stops possible, write a creative story about his adventures, or compare and contrast Santa's past trips using past population data.

In this game students can read stories about Santa's Secret Village, play games, and get coloring sheets.

Primary and Elementary teachers will find loads of winter/holiday themed resources here.

A Holiday spin on a classic game. Teachers will need to print the Mad Libs from the site for use in class.

I know. I  know. Antartica has nothing to do Christmas because Santa is at the North Pole, but Google Maps-Antarctic provides some real life images you won't want your students to miss. Students could write about the differences if Santa lived at the South Pole, and map out a landing strip for him from the Google Map.

This is a good resource to start with Christmas Around the World. There are eight countries in the list, so this wouldn't take older students too long to read through and complete some comparisons.

A compilation of Christmas stories that have audio embedded.

Education Place is full of resources for Holiday/winter fun activities for K-8.

A personalized video message from Santa is fun for all ages-young or old.

Students can learn how to draft an e-mail by sending one to Santa. The really cool thing about this site is Santa will e-mail them back faster than reindeer can fly! The site has the Naughty & Nice List along with Santa's blog for students to read and do activities.

Creating fun dancing elves with students faces is a classic way to spread holiday cheer! Your students will love seeing their faces dancing on the screen, and older students will love making their own Elf.

Technology Rocks Seriously is a technology blog full of games for all ages of students. Scroll to the bottom to find some activities for 6th-12th related to Christmas History at the White House Christmas and Christmas in Colonial Williamsburg from the 1700's to now.

If the Christmas at the White House links are broken, try these:
