Eric Plagmen " Building" His Way Through Senior Year

Eric Plagman’s plan for after college graduation is to come back to Southwest Iowa and work with local carpenters. His favorite high school memory is coming back to high school every day. The advice he gives and has received is, “Get as many required classes in your freshman and sophomore years so that junior and senior years can be spent in general education classes and internships.” He regrets not going out for speech. His internship is with Jim Wessling who is a local carpenter. Eric is involved in football, basketball, FFA, and 4-H.


"Tinkering" His Way Through Senior Year

Sid Schmidt, son of Doug and Julie Schmidt, plans on going to college for Diesel Mechanics, then driving a big rig after he completes high school. Sid has been in FFA for all four years and football for two years. He has two older siblings, Samantha and Tucker, who both graduated from CAM. His younger brother, Toby Schmidt, is a junior at CAM as well. When asked about his hobbies, he answered, “I like to work on things that have an engine or a body. I also like to farm and go fishing and just have good ol time.” He is interested in trucks and loves to drive and tinker with them. He also enjoys the sound of the motor, the look, and the history behind them. He will not miss all the class work, because making money is way more important to him. The part of high school he will miss the most is working in the shop, going on adventures with Mr. Miller, and the fun joy rides they had with their projects.

Faye Hardisty “Teaching” Her Way Through Senior Year

Faye Hardisty graduated from high school early in January. Since she has been out of school, she has been working so she can save as much money as she can before she attends college. A dream she would like to pursue is to become a kindergarten teacher. During her high school years, Faye was involved in cheerleading, speech, FFA, and acquired an internship with the CAM North Kindergarten class with Mrs. Clay. When Faye was asked what she misses about high school, she answered, “Seeing my friends everyday and I do not miss the homework.” Her parents are Troy Hardisty, Jayme Hansen, and her stepmom, Tracey Hardisty. She has 5 sisters, Chelsea, Kenleigh, Kaley, Kyla, and Kendra, and has two brothers, Austin and Jordan. Her biggest fear, which she would like to overcome, is riding roller coasters. " Shooting Her Shot" Her Way Through Senior Year

Madison Gettler also known as the “Basketball MVP”. She is involved in basketball, volleyball, golf, FFA, and 4-H. Her future plans are to attend Morningside College and major in nursing. She will also be playing basketball for Morningside. Matt and Brandy Gettler are her parents and she has three siblings, Emily, Wyatt, and Walker. Madison enjoys her time playing sports, watching Netflix, and hanging out with her friends. “Sports”, is the answer Madison said when asked what she will miss most about high school. One thing Madison is most proud of is being apart of the 1000 Points Club during her basketball career.

Courtney Fuoss " Creating" Her Way Through Senior Year

Courtney Fuoss plans to travel and try new things after graduation from high school. The advice she had received is, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” The advice she gives is, “Don't let what they say about you go to your head.” She doesn’t regret anything, she believes things happen for a reason. Courtney’s internship is with Tami Williamson, our school cook. She also enjoys her many art classes over her high school career. Courtney has two brothers who graduated from CAM High School. Chris, who graduated in 2015 and Curtis, who graduated last year.

Brady Beerman“Cooking” His Way Through Senior Year

Brady Beerman isn’t sure what he wants to do after high school. His favorite high school memory hasn’t happened yet, but he said it would be leaving high school. The advice he has received and is giving is, “Work hard and don't fall behind. Get your hard classes out of the way first.” He regrets not doing his homework. Brady’s internship is with Tami Williamson in the CAM High School lunchroom.

Josie Williamson Writing Her Way Through Senior Year

Josie Williamson isn’t sure what career pathway she wants to pursue after high school, however, she wants to do some writing on the side. Her favorite high school memory is when she first moved here and made friends. The advice she had received is, “Come to school.” The advice she gives is, “Have fun and don’t worry too much, everyone figures out what they want to do eventually.” She wishes she had spent more time with her friends. Her senior internship is with Mrs. Anderson, the CAM High School English teacher. Josie is involved in band, vocal, and speech.


RoAnn Perry Accounting Down To Graduation

RoAnn Perry’s plans for after college is to become a CPA (Certified Public Accountant), as well as traveling to new, exciting places. She also wants to open up her own tax service. The advice she received is, “Be friends with everyone.” The advice she gives is, “Participate in as many sports and extracurricular activities as you can.” Something on her bucket list is to visit every town in Iowa, as well as travel to all six continents. RoAnn regrets staying in her comfort zone during her freshman, sophomore and junior years. She also regrets not going out for more sports during freshman year. Her internship is with the high school spanish teacher, Mrs. Marín. She is involved in track, basketball, cross country, and FFA.

Jevon McDuff Rocking His Way Through Senior Year

Jevon McDuff is planning on going to a police academy after he graduates. His favorite high school memory is attending prom 2018. The best advice he received is, “Get all your homework done on time.” The advice he gives is, “Listen to the advice I got because you will be hearing it throughout high school.” High on his bucket list is to travel overseas to see exotic wildlife. Something he regrets not doing is his homework. Jevon has worked at the Atlantic Hy-Vee in the meat department. He is involved in band and he was a football player for three years.

Anna Riker Working Hard Through Her Senior Year

Anna Riker is planning to attend IWCC in the fall, however she hasn’t chosen her career path yet. The advice she has received is, “Don’t procrastinate.” She has no regrets at this time. Anna has been involved in speech, softball, track, and vocal. She is currently working at the C-Store in Massena.

Bryce Walter Sculpting His Way Through Senior Year

Bryce Walter’s plans are to attend the University of Washington based in Seattle for a Material Science Major. Although Bryce has many favorite high school memories, his favorite is watching Daniel get body slammed in PE. Bryce's advice to others would be, “Don't be put in bad situations by your so-called friends it’s not worth it”. Bryce’s number one regret would be not joining art earlier and doing basketball for the rest of his high school career. Bryce is not currently in an internship but he does have a work release in which he works at Dimmen’s Boutique, which is owned by his sister.

Preston Murphy Scoring and Receiving His Senior Year

Preston Murphy is planning to work and take business courses online after high school. His favorite memory is his last football game against Audubon this year. The best advice he received is, “To never give up.” The advice he gives is, “Work hard, achieve your goals, and it will eventually come to you.” He regrets not playing basketball his senior year. His internship is with Mr. Wollum with the Health class. Preston is involved in football and track.

Haley Becker Spot Kicking Her Way Through Senior Year

Haley Becker plans to be a teacher at a small school after graduating from college. Her favorite high school memory is playing soccer and being with the girls every day. The advice she is giving and has received is, “You just have to pay attention and ask questions if you don’t get it.” She regrets not being in cross country all four years of high school. Her senior internship is at CAM North Elementary in the four-year-old preschool classroom. Haley is involved in soccer, dance team, 4-H, FFA, cross country, speech, basketball, and softball.

Teaguen Sothman Dunking His Way Through Senior Year

Teaguen Sothman is a senior at CAM High School. When asked about his plans after high school, Teaguen stated, “I will be attending Iowa State University for an undecided business major.” His favorite high school memories are lighting off fireworks, riding mopeds after baseball games, and hanging out with friends. When asked what his most memorable advice given to him was, he commented, “Always put school first, so you have free time on the weekends.” He would also give the same advice to others. One thing Teaguen regrets is, “not trying to participate in new activities and branch out more.” Teaguen’s senior internship is with Rolling Hills bank in Anita and also in Atlantic on specific days. He indicated that he thoroughly enjoys working at the bank and is gaining great experience. Teaguen Sothman is involved in basketball, football, golf and FFA.


Sidney Aupperle " Spiking" Her Way Through Senior Year

Sidney Aupperle will be attending Ellsworth Community College for Equine Science and Management in the fall. After she finishes her college education, she would like to get involved with therapeutic riding. Her favorite high school memory is having morning talks with Mr. and Mrs. Miller. The advice she has received has been, “Don’t be afraid to try new things.” The advice she gives to underclassmen is, “Start making a plan on what you would like to do after high school because the time goes by faster than you think.” She regrets not being open to trying new things. She is involved in an internship with the Anita Vet Clinic. Sidney is an active member in volleyball, golf, vocal, and FFA. She is a CNA at the Heritage House in Atlantic.

Tanner Williamson Commentating His Way Through Senior Year

Tanner Williamson’s internship is with Camblin’s Plumbing and Heating in Atlantic, Iowa. Instead of attending college, Tanner will be working as an apprentice at Camblin’s immediately after graduation. His favorite high school memory is when they defeated Audubon in football on senior night. The best advice he received is to always to be on time to class. The best advice he gives is to turn homework in on time. He regrets not wrestling in his senior year. Tanner is involved in football, golf, and announcing play-by-plays during the basketball season.

Eric Vogl Drumming His Way Through His Senior Year

Eric Vogl is planning to pursue a career in Information Technology after college graduation. He also wants to write, sing, and perform music. His favorite high school memory is open campus every week. The best advice he has received is, “Be confident in yourself.” The advice he gives is, “Always be a realist.” Eric regrets not giving his full potential when participating in a mixed ensemble in his sophomore year. He is involved in vocal, Duly Noted (previously known as a mixed ensemble), and band.

KateLynn Scar " Socializing" Her Way Through Senior Year

KateLynn Scar plans to attend either Briarcliffe in Sioux City or DMACC in Ankeny to study Social Work. Her favorite high school memory is making it to the State tournament in girls basketball this year. The advice she would like to give to the underclassmen is, “Be yourself.” At the top of her bucket list is taking a trip to France someday. She regrets not participating in track all four years of high school. KateLynn is involved in basketball, band, and track.

Coady Cambage " Traveling" Through His Senior Year

Coady Cambage wants to travel and be an archaeologist after college. His favorite high school memory is, when he had gotten his picture taken under the homecoming “love shack” during his sophomore year. The advice he received and is giving is, “Be patient, if it happens it’s suppose to happen, things change.” At the top of his bucket list is to visit Eastern Europe and all of its surrounding countries. He regrets not participating in speech his first three years of high school. Coady is involved in speech, vocal, and National Honor Society.

Madison Mills Farming Her Way Through

Madison Mills is attending Northwest Missouri State University to major in Animal Science and Pre-Vet Medicine. Her favorite high school memory is having the chance to go to Washington D.C. and New York City. The best advice she has received is, “Don’t let others define who you are.” The advice she is giving is, “Do not pass up any opportunity that you are given. It might be scary at first but go ahead and do it. Try new things, because if you don’t, then most likely you will regret it later on in your life.” Traveling to Rome is at the top of her bucket list. Madison regrets not being more involved in more things. Her senior internship is with Mr. Miller during his Intro to Ag class. She is involved in FFA, 4H, and vocal.

Sam Martin "Welding" His Way Through Senior Year

Sam Martin’s career plan for after college is becoming a welder or a mechanic after obtaining a business degree. Some of his favorite high school memories are; being selected to play in the Southwest Iowa Marching Band, traveling to California to march in the Holiday Bowl, along with having leading roles in both The Sound of Music and The Beauty and The Beast musicals. The advice he gives is, “Learn to keep a healthy balance of all the things you do in your high school career. Also, if you’re going to do something give it everything you got.” When asked about his greatest accomplishments, Sam answered, “Some of my greatest accomplishments was starting a YouTube channel, buying the logo and name for the channel, and selling apparel. I hope someday to make a better website and make money with the company on the side, selling outdoor sportsman products.” He regrets not going into vocal and sports in his early high school career. His senior internship is in Massena at Bower Welding with Brian Bower. Sam has been involved in vocal, band, track, football, wrestling, FCA, National Honor Society, student council, and FFA.

'Booking' Her Way Through High School

Kendra Pruett’s plans after high school are to take online classes and work towards a job in a library somewhere. Her favorite high school memory is her first dance, which was during her freshman year. The best advice Kendra received is, “Continue doing what you love.” The advice she gives is, “Get out of your comfort zone and don’t follow the pack.” An item on her bucket list is to write a book, while something she regrets, is not attempting to write poems sooner. Kendra is involved in vocal and plays the part of “The Lady With The Cane” in the musical, “Beauty and the Beast”.


“Balling” His Way Through Senior Year


Isaac Bower’s plans for college is to attend a small private college in Iowa to play football. His favorite high school memory is beating Audubon in their last game of his high school career. Isaac is involved in; basketball, football, baseball, track, and 4-H. The best advice he received is, “To focus on the little things.” The advice Isaac gives is, “To not let a day go to waste.” Something on his bucket list is to watch the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Something he regrets is not going out for speech. His senior internship at the CAM high school is with Science teacher, Mrs. Thomas, and her Chemistry class. The name his pet would give him is “Dork.”

"Stitching" Up Senior Year

Mitchell Williamson is involved in football, track, wrestling, golf, baseball, 4H, and speech. After high school, he plans to play football in a small private college in Iowa. He also plans to study pre-med to become an Orthopaedic Surgeon. Mitchell’s favorite high school memory is winning his last senior football game against Audubon. The best advice he received is, “Work hard and don’t take anything for granted” and the advice he would give is, “Take school work seriously and enjoy high school.” Something on his bucket list is to travel overseas to a different country. His internship is at ATI Physical Therapy in Atlantic.


“Running” His Way Out of High School

After high school, DeShawn Carr is not going to college right away, his plan is to go into active duty in the military or be apart of the military police. His favorite high school memory is when he was in vocal class and Andrew kicked over a chair. The advice he received is, “Be who you are.” The advice he would give is, “Be who you are and have confidence in yourself.” An item on his bucket list is going to Australia and he will be going there soon. He’s involved in football, basketball, track, baseball, and vocal.


Impacting Others in her Senior Year

McKenna Stuhr wants to be a special education teacher after college. Her favorite high school memory is meeting her best friend, Eyon Steffensen. The best advice she received is, “Treat others how you want to be treated.” The advice McKenna is giving is, “Be yourself.” Something that is on her bucket list is to go skydiving. She regrets not standing up for what she believes is right. She is working at her internship in the Special Education room with Terri Clinton-Reinke at the CAM North Elementary. She’s involved in cheerleading, FFA, and is a wrestling manager for the Atlantic-CAM team.


“Dancing” Her Way Through Senior Year

After college, Blaire Wendt wants to have her own interior design business. Blaire stated that dancing on stage for the first time when she was three years old, is her favorite childhood memory. The advice she received is, “Put your own happiness above others,” and the advice she gives is, “Don’t put things off because your afraid to do it.” The number one thing on her bucket list is to travel to all 50 states in the USA. Something she regrets not doing is voicing her opinion when it matters most. If Blaire’s pet had a name for her it would be, “The one who loves me the most.” She’s involved in dance at Villa Dance, dance team, FFA, and track.

“Cheering” Her Way Through Senior Year

Savanna Valeika is unsure of what she wants to do after college, but would love to work in the Department of Human Services working as a Child Support Specialist. Savanna’s favorite high school memory is homecoming week, because, “We work together and we all have a lot of fun.” Her favorite childhood memory was being in dance with her closest friends. The advice she received is, “Don’t slack off”, and the advice Savanna is giving underclassmen is, “Don’t feed into drama.” Living in New York City is something that’s on her bucket list. Savanna is involved in cheerleading, dance, and FFA, but regrets not being active in sports. She’s not in internship this semester, but plans to intern at a bakery or hair salon in the area. The name her pets would give her is “Annoying.”


'Traveling' Her Way Out Of High School

Isabel Kinzie wants to go to nursing school, but she is not sure where she is going to college yet. Her favorite high school memory is being involved in the Sound of Music sophomore year, her favorite childhood memory is being with her siblings.The best advice she received is be kind to others and the advice she’s giving is be involved because four years of high school go by fast. Something she has on her bucket list is to visit all 50 states in the United States. Something she regret not doing is not going to every sports and school events, because high school activities because it goes by so fast and they won't be the same after graduation. She’s interning at Cass County hospital, Isabel is getting experience by doing a nursing rotation at the hospital. She said, “Well, probably Isabel because that's all they know me by.”

'Showing' His Way Through Senior Year

Walker McDermott’s plan for after college is to become an animal chiropractitioner and acupuncturist. His favorite high school memory is being the FFA president for two years in a row, and his favorite childhood memory is showing livestock. The best advice he received is, “Don’t change yourself to please other people.” The advice he is giving is, “Don’t be afraid to try something new.” Something that is on his bucket list is to make The Sale of Champions at the Iowa State Fair. Something he regrets is not participating in Student Council his junior year. He’s in a work release for R&B Feeds. When asked what his pets might call him, he commented “Spoon, because I feed them treats off of a spoon.”

"Styling" Her Way Through Senior Year

Alexis Karns plans to go to Xenon Academy to get her cosmetology license, then onto massage and barber school. Alexis plans to be a travelling hair and makeup artist. “My favorite high school memory is when I thought I disliked Kaylee, Haley, Ally, and Jozie, but now we’re best friends. My favorite childhood memory is when I ran away with my grandpa Junior because my mom made me mad and she called the cops because she thought someone kidnapped me.” The best advice she received is, “In any relationship remember it’s you and the person against the problem not you vs. the other person.” The advice she is giving is, “Luck favors the prepared, always be prepared, never slack.” Something on her bucket list is to collaborate with Jaclyn Hill and James Charles because, “Over the past few years they have helped me find my love for makeup and the want to make others feel beautiful.” Something she regrets is, letting toxic relationships control her. Her internship is with Unique Salon and Spa in Atlantic. If her pet had a name for her it would be “Psycho Mother.” “I am involved in dance team, compete competitively with Adair Dance Academy, participate on the CAM shooting team, and am an active member of the NRA.”

Halie Giegerich

Halie Giegerich’s plan for after college is to either have her own clothing store or be a part of a big clothing company to be a designer. Halie is involved in many things such as vocal, mixed ensemble, band, cheerleading, dance team, speech, golf, and dances at Villa Dance Company. Her favorite high school memory is when the cheerleaders redecorated the football run through and got to jump through it. The best advice she received is, “You have to surround yourself with people who make you happy and have a great influence on your life.” The advice she gives is, “Just do what you love and not to care what other people think.” One thing on her bucket list was to go to Paris and she finally got to visit Paris this last summer. She regrets not eating on the plane before her trip to Europe because she was absolutely miserable.

Paige McAfee

Paige McAfee’s plan after graduation is to pursue a nursing career. Her hope is to obtain a position at a hospital or nursing home in a big city. Her favorite high school memory is staying in the parking lot after games and talking to everyone about it. The best advice she received and is giving is, ”Do what makes you happy.” Something on her bucket list is to travel out of the country. She regrets worrying about what people thought of her. Paige is involved in basketball, track, speech, yearbook, and NHS.

Mathew Harris

Matthew Harris’ favorite high school memory is when Thomas Hensley placed the homecoming crown on his head. Matthew’s favorite childhood memory is when he finally learned how to ride a bike. One thing Matthew enjoys doing is, going to the YMCA to team up with friends to shoot hoops or throw the football around. Something Matthew wants to do after graduation is hanging out with his friends. During his free time, he likes to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes. Extra-curricular activities Matthew has been involved in was a football manager, he plays basketball, where he’s famous for his 3-point shots. In the summer he is on the baseball team. Matthew also sings in the choir and plays bass drum in the band. Something he regrets not doing is being football manager all four years.

Macy Ticknor Training Her Way Through Senior Year

Macy Ticknor wants to go to college and major in Kinesiology or athletic training. Her favorite high school memory is participating in sports and being part of a team. The advice Macy received and is giving is, “Try everything you can.” Something on her bucket list is to travel outside of the country. Macy’s internship is at CCHS with the Occupational Therapists. Macy is involved in student council, volleyball, basketball, track, softball, boomerang, and NHS.

Shelby Stephenson Leading Her Way Out of Senior Year

Shelby Stephenson plans to move back into the CAM school district to find a position as a social worker after college graduation. Her favorite high school memory would have to be watching the boys baseball team make it to state in 2017 or winning a few volleyball tournaments this season. Her favorite childhood memory is coming to watch all the high school sporting events. The best advice she received is, “Get all required classes done your freshman, sophomore, and junior year, therefore senior year is a breeze.” The advice she is giving is, “Get involved in high school and go out for as many activities as possible.” Something on Shelby’s bucket list is to go overseas on a mission trip to help serve those in need. Something she regrets not doing is appreciating the moments with her class more. Shelby’s internship was in social services with the Cass County Health System last semester. She is involved in volleyball, basketball, track, softball, student council, speech, 4-H, FFA, yearbook, and boomerang. Shelby has been a football manager for the past two years and has been the class president for two years as well. She is a member of the CAM National Honor Society.


Kelsi Performing her Way Through Senior Year

Kelsi Templeman’s plan for after college is to be working in a job that she loves, making a lot of money, and seeing the world. Her favorite high school memory was her first day of freshman year and she was late to all her classes because she didn’t know where they were located. Her favorite childhood memory is playing with her sister in their old house. The best advice Kelsi received is to get her homework done on time. The advice she gives is, “Always respect your teachers, especially at the beginning of freshman year. They can do a lot of favors and help you out a lot if you’re on good terms with them.” Something on Kelsi’s bucket list is, “To live overseas for a while if I get the chance for college or for my job. I’d definitely take that offer if I got the opportunity.” Something she regrets not doing is speaking up more and telling people her opinion. Kelsi is experiencing her first internship with the Cass County Health System, working with all the business and marketing sides of things that go into running a hospital. She is involved in vocal, band, TAG, and National Honor Society.

Andrew Holste Working Smarter Through His Senior Year

Andrew Holste’s plan for after college is to live in Omaha and pursue a career in nursing. His favorite high school memory is hanging out with his friends at sporting events and cheering on the team. The best advice Andrew has received and is giving is, “Work smarter, not harder.” The top two things on his bucket list is to visit Australia and to go skydiving. One thing Andrew regrets not doing in high school is his homework. He is involved in vocal and Mixed Ensemble.
