2019 Season

On Saturday, April 27th, 16 members of the CAM Shooting Sports Team competed in Harlan at the Shelby County Trap Facility. There were over 180 shooters from nine different teams competing. The CAM teams competed late in the day under extremely poor weather conditions. There was 40 mile an hour winds and 36-degree temperature, which made shooting very difficult. Students from CAM shooting were Sal Digilio, Ethan Steffenson, Connor Alff, and Seth Stephenson. The rest of the team consisted of team members from Nodaway Valley and AC-GC. One of the varsity teams placed 7th out of 16 teams. The CAM Shooting team will be shooting Wednesday, May 1st, at Hansen’s Shooting Complex and hoping for better weather conditions. The team has a number of meets left to help prepare for the Conference and State meets in June.

Shooting For the Stars

As spring arrives, so do the spring sports at CAM High School. The CAM shooting team is looking forward to this upcoming season. The team is practicing from 4-6pm after school on Wednesdays and also on Sundays from 2-4pm. CAM has two home meets on April 13th and April 20th at the Mormon Trail Park in Bridgewater, Iowa. Head coach, Gary Miller commented, “We have around 35 students who are participating in shooting sports this year. I am looking forward to this season as it should be a ton of fun. This year will be less stressful knowing we have our schedule planned out before the season begins.” Junior member Ethan Steffensen said, “I am very excited for the season and cannot wait to start competing.”
