On Thursday, October 4th, the Cross Country participants competed in Woodbine. The runners who medaled in the conference were, Whitney Holaday, Emily Plagman, and Ethan Follmann. Holaday finished the race in 5th place with the time of 23:25. Plagman received 8th place and completed the race in 23:46. Follmann rounded off the race in 18:58, placing 5th. The girls’ and boys’ teams were both awarded 3rd place overall in the conference.
Both the girls’ and boys’ teams traveled to Creston on Tuesday, September 18th, and placed 6th as teams. Whitney Holaday placed 12th with the time of 23:13, Emily Plagman was 17th, time of 23:40; Cadence Stephenson came in 43rd, 26:23, Jade Jackson with the time of 27:46, placed 47th, and Haley Becker with the placing of 50th, with the time of 28:39. For the boys team, placing 15th, was Ethan Follmann ending with the time of 18:36, Michael Hill with the time of 21:53, placed 36th, Seth Stephenson, finishing in 38th place with 22:15; Eyon Steffensen was 40th, with the time of 22:16, and Walker Gettler placed 41st, with 22:33. At this meet, a past CAM state qualifier, Katlyn Holaday came with a few of her fellow Faith Baptist College teammates to support our team!
The CAM Cross Country runners traveled to Orient on the 24th of September. The girls competed well in this competition. Whitney Holaday placed 21st with the time of 24:24. Emily Plagman ran a 25:05 race and placed 30th, while Cadence Stephenson placed 50th with a 28:15 time. In the boys competition, Ethan Follmann came home with the time of 19:39, placing and medaling at 15th. Michael Hill placed 31st with the time of 22:24, while Seth Stephenson completed the race in 41st place with the time of 23:47. We would like to congratulate all of the runners who participated in this meet.
On Thursday, October 18th, the CAM Cross Country Team traveled to AC-GC to participate in a meet. Whitney Holiday finished in 32nd with the time of 24:18. Emily Plagman completed the race with the time of 25:08, placing 46th. Cadence Stephenson ended the race in 27:46, in 89th place. Ethan Follmann accomplished the race in 60th place, at the time of 21:03. Michael Hill wrapped up the race with the time of 22:47 in 97th place. Congratulations to all who participated in this meet that finished off the season!
On Thursday, September 27, the CAM Middle School and High School cross country teams will be running the game ball for 14 miles from Massena to Anita. The runners will make their way down Highway 148 in groups of two and will run for a two mile stretch then will switch off with another group. On Thursday at 3:30 the runners will meet at the middle school in Massena and are expected to arrive at the high school in Anita between 5:30-6:00 pm. When asked about this event, Coach Deb Brown commented, “It’s a great community pride building event. As coaches, we were amazed by the support given to our cross country runners as they ran on Highway 148. Our runners would appreciate the support this year as they run the game ball from Massena to Anita.”
