Entering the TV Studios.
Before you arrive there are a few things we expect all users of the space to be aware of:
Face Coverings - It’s asked that all users of university buildings wear a face covering. Please remember to bring yours with you and put it on before entering Commons. If you are exempted from wearing a face covering you will be required to display this by wearing an Orange Lanyard. These are available from SU or Security Office.
Wash / Sanitise Hands - Please wash your hands before arriving at the TV Studio entrance. At the entrance we have a hand sanitisation station. You will be asked to apply alcohol hand gel before coming through the TV Studio doors.
Bring a face covering and wear it whilst inside the TV Studio facilities.
Wash your hands before arriving at the studio.
Come through to TV Studio B and hang coats on clothes rails provided.
Before entering the TV Studio use the hand sanitiser provided.
Once you have become familiar with the layout of the TV Studio and which roles are in which area you should go straight to that area once the initial briefing is over.
Before you use the equipment you will be provided with a wipe to wipe down the touch points in the item you are using.
To exit the TV Studio you will need to exit via the fire escape, this is to ensure the one way system is adhered to.
To keep all users of the TV Studio safe whilst working we all need to follow these control measures:
Unnecessary movement - To maintain social distancing in the TV Studio you need to stay in the area you are working in. Upon entering the TV Studio you will need to know what equipment you are using. Make your way to the area in which you will be working and do not wander into other users areas. When changing to a different part of the studio pay attention and respect other people’s social distancing space.
One Way System - We have implemented a one way system around the studio facilities, this is to prevent the risk of transmitting the virus due to lack of social distancing. You will come in via the two large doors enter into TV Studio B. Do not enter TV Studio A as this is used an as exit only. You will be able to pass through TV Studio B into the scene dock where you can hang your coat and store your bags. You can then meet as a class in TV Studio A. From TV Studio A you can exit the room via the main exit back onto the corridor where you can take the stairs up to the Gallery. From the Gallery you will continue along the corridor to the fire exit and re enter the building through the main entrance where you can come back to TV Studio A. At the end of the session you can collect your coats and bags and exit the building using the exit in the scene dock.
Maximum Occupancy - We have worked closely with the team in Estates to determine the maximum occupancy of the TV Studio spaces, these are in place to reduce the risk of spreading the virus due to lack of social distancing. Please respect this and be aware of the numbers that are in place. The maximum occupancy for TV Studio A is 15 people. This includes staff and students.
Preparing for teaching sessions - We have built time into every teaching session delivered in the TV Studio for cleaning and change over. Users will be provided with isopropyl alcohol wipes and asked to sanitise the touch points on the piece of equipment they are using. These wipes will then be disposed in the correct bin. Staff who are working on more than one session will be expected to go and wash their hands before the next session commences.
Movement of students during or between sessions - If classes are split into two or three groups we need to make sure the movement of these groups inside a teaching session is carefully managed. We will arrange these changeovers so that students aren’t brought into the studio until the main space has been cleared. Please be patient and we ask you to wait in the communal area before you are called into the main teaching space.
Ventilation - Our air conditioning has been set to provide fresh air into the spaces and not recycle any of the air that has already been in circulation in the room.
Staying Well - If you or anyone in your household has been experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 then we ask that you stay away from the TV Studios and follow guidelines of isolating for 14 days.
Sharing Personal Items - Please refrain from passing personal items between each other, this includes paper documents such as scripts and running orders, phone chargers and other small electrical items.
