A Redhead kit (because the lamps all used to have red metal housings) contains three very bright lamps that get extremely hot. Each case contains three stands as well. You should only run two at a time in a house or a flat. You will need gloves to handle them once they have warmed up. These are studio-3200K only. You can bring them towards daylight-5600Kwith special blue heat proof gel but you drastically reduce the output so they are not good in daylight. If you move them whilst they are on, the bulb will blow and is difficult to replace.
They work well bounced off a wall, ceiling (not too close!) or a reflector. They are very harsh pointing straight at a subject. They have barn doors which can control or ‘shape the beam’ or you can fix heat proof coloured gels or diffusion with metal crocodile clips.
Notes :

High output, comes with stands
Very hot to touch, you will need gloves. Fragile when on.
