When using video, music or any other resources created by someone else, you need to be aware of copyright and creative commons licensing.
You are able to use other peoples work if it is listed as copyright free where they have given you permission or expressed that you should credit them or reference them within your own piece of work.
For example, we often refer you to www.bensound.com when sourcing music tracks as there is a large catalogue of tracks which are downloadable for use as long as you credit bensounds.com in your film.
Adobe Audition Sound Effects and Jamedo are also good sites to source sound files.
If you are using YouTube as a place to search for copyright free video footage, you are able to apply a filter to your search so that the results will only show videos with Creative Commons licensing.
This is done by clicking on the Filter option when creating your search.
Then selecting the Creative Commons option.
If you are using Google Images mages, you can filter for Creative Commons licensing by selecting Tools > Usage Rights > Creative Common Licences
