People who provide training in effective teaching to current and future faculty members often struggle to get their message across to audiences from STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) disciplines. We (Richard Felder and Rebecca Brent) have coauthored a book, Teaching and Learning STEM: A Practical Guide (Jossey-Bass, 2016), that might be a useful resource for you. The book is a distillation of the content of more than 700 teaching workshops and seminars we have given around the world in the past three decades, and of what we have learned in our combined 87 years of teaching. The techniques of course design, delivery, and assessment the book describes and illustrates have been proven effective in hundreds of educational research studies.
