2021 Brilliant STEM Day

On February 6, 2021, the APU Boundless Brilliance (BB) leaders coordinated with over 30 student volunteers in a groundbreaking, virtual science outreach on Zoom. After months of planning and organization, we hosted nearly 100 elementary school students from San Gabriel Valley by offering 20 various STEM sessions. In addition to BB, Dr. James White (Professor Emeritus of Chemistry) and the following student clubs participated:

  • Alpha Epsilon Delta (Pre-Health Honor Society)

  • Future Dentists

  • Kappa Iota Nu (Kinesiology Honor Society)

  • Phi Delta Epsilon (Pre-Med Honor Society)

  • Sustainability Club

  • Society of Women Engineers

Here are some photos for your enjoyment (please refrain from sharing or posting).

One of the student leaders commented after the event, "That was so fun! We are always busy with homework and classes. Perhaps we have forgotten the joy of being with [little] people during this pandemic." Indeed, you could see those faces beaming with joy and exuding energy.

Would you join us in commending and congratulating our fearless student leaders and volunteers in this brilliant endeavour? May we also take this opportunity to extend our appreciation to all campus partners in making this virtual event possible: Undergraduate & International Admissions, School of Education, and Strategic Communication & Engagement. And may we continue to bear His light regardless of the situation we are in and the constraints we face.
