Donella Meadows, Ph.D

Dr. Donella "Dana" Meadows was an environmental scientist, educator, and author. She focused on sustainability and wrote multiple books pertaining to this topic including The Global Citizen. She was a Pew Scholar in Conservation and Environment, and a MacArthur Fellow, and received multiple awards for her work.

Ellen Ochoa, Ph.D

Dr. Ellen Ochoa was the first latinx woman to travel to space. She began as a researcher in the development of optical systems and worked with NASA. In 1990, she was accepted into NASA's astronaut program. She recently retired from her position as director of NASA's Johnson Space Center to become vice chair of the National Science Board.

Frances Kelsey, Ph.D

Dr. Frances Kelsey was a pharmacologist and physician recognized for her work as an FDA reviewer. She refused to authorize the drug thalidomide which was later shown to cause severe birth defects. She was the second woman to recieve the President's Award for Distinguished Federal Civilian Service from John F. Kennedy.
