Women in STEM

Jennifer Doudna, Ph.D

Dr. Jennifer Doudna is one of the most culturally significant scientists today. She helped developed CRISPR, a gene editing technology that has bold promises such as the eradication of sickle cell anemia, cystic fibrosis, Huntington's disease, and HIV. She is a professor at UC Berkeley. We are particularly grateful for Dr. Doudna's financial support via pgEd of the Intercampus Symposium on Gene Editing at APU in June 2018.

Tiera Guinn B.S.

Ms. Guinn, now an MIT graduate, has been helping build a rocket for NASA that could be one of the biggest and most powerful ever made, according to WBRC News. She was an aerospace major with a 5.0 GPA who works as a Rocket Structural Design and Analysis Engineer for the Space Launch System that Boeing is building for NASA.
